My stock 3dm06 score was 2830 and I think I have reached the upper limit with this GPU at 3676 since when I try to get a higher score with very small advances 3dm06 freezes everytime.....I would be surprised if anyone gets a higher score with a similar setup. Score was done on an Inspiron 1720...

tegman, those are really impressive scores, I commend you on your overclocking abilities. -
what speeds have you got the core and memory to, what program did you use for overclocking and what drivers are you using?
-
nice score, finaly there is someone with an 8600gt which benches 3dmark06 in the standard resolution of 1280*1024!

1999 after rebates and an edu discount. you actually still win on price/performance though. especially when you leave 3dmark.
anyway, nice OC job. i wouldn't have the guts to OC so much. -
From what I have seen so far DDR3 8600gt's score between 3600-3800 stock in 3dmark06. So I would expect them to get 4400-4500 with a similar overclock, like mine at the top of this thread and everyone should benchmark in the 3dmark06 standard resolution of 1280x1024, so scores will be comparable!

that's a good idea, but some laptops only go to 1280 x 800

Yeah it looks like this will be my PC, 2.4GHZ, 2GB Ram, the 8600GT and Blu-Ray.
DDR2 8600gt 3676 3dm06 In 1720......
