My stock 3dm06 score was 2830 and I think I have reached the upper limit with this GPU at 3676 since when I try to get a higher score with very small advances 3dm06 freezes everytime.....I would be surprised if anyone gets a higher score with a similar setup. Score was done on an Inspiron 1720...

nice score, finaly there is someone with an 8600gt which benches 3dmark06 in the standard resolution of 1280*1024!

Yeah, you guys with DDR3 are lucky, although I only spent $1200 on my notebook were you probably spent close to $3000 on your's. so I win in the price per performance category :)

I used ntune and got to 643/515 and im using laptopvideotogo.com drivers, I tried using the new release of atitool, but it wouldn't read the GPU for some reason.....

1999 after rebates and an edu discount. you actually still win on price/performance though. especially when you leave 3dmark.

anyway, nice OC job. i wouldn't have the guts to OC so much.

From what I have seen so far DDR3 8600gt's score between 3600-3800 stock in 3dmark06. So I would expect them to get 4400-4500 with a similar overclock, like mine at the top of this thread and everyone should benchmark in the 3dmark06 standard resolution of 1280x1024, so scores will be comparable!

that's a good idea, but some laptops only go to 1280 x 800
