Hi, again. DHzer0point is proud to present the 0.63 tweaked Catalyst set. These, like the DHzp nVidia drivers, are tweaked for the best image quality and performance possible. These fully support most mobility ATi GPU's so give 'em a shot and see how they run for you! (I can vouch that they run great on my X850XT)
    DHzer0point 0.63 Release notes
Based on the Catalyst 6.3 drivers
-Supports all ATI cards Desktop and Mobile.
-We have dropped the CP from our package it's the way ATI is moving and we have little choice but to follow, the CCC offers more functionality unfortunately it can be a bit of a resource hog but as of this point we feel it's ready for prime time.
-Let us know if you want the CP back in it will delay releases a bit but can be done.
-Adaptive AA is no longer enabled by default but you can turn it on in the CCC
-DHzer0point Video playback Optimizations including some for cards supporting H.264, Codec required.
-Increased performance over the 6.2 set while maintaining our commitment to solid IQ
-Increased FSAA optimizations over the 6.2 set
-Optimized Zbuffer culling, compression and performance.

    -Issues,
-One reported instance of graphical anomolies in COD, if you find this to be the case please report it to use with a screenshot preferrably so we can investigate.

Enjoy, and please leave your feedback here.

Hi again guys, myself and fobis will be offering support for both the Nvidia and ATI drivers. I currently have these installed for my Asus z70va laptop with the X700 and it's install perfectly without a hitch. Plus games looks and perform great too ;)
To ammend the release notes, the CP (Control Panel) is available for download. If you want to use the CP instead of CCC, please uncheck the option to install CCC during the driver installation.

As always when installing new drivers, please uninstall the previous drivers, reboot in safe mode, run drivercleaner (I normally run Cab Cleaner first, then select the all the ATI filters, just to make sure nothing gets left in the registry), reboot and proceed to install the zer0point drivers.

PS: You can obtain DriverCleaner here: http://www.drivercleaner.net/

Here's the link for the Catalyst ones:
    http://www.driverheavendownloads.net/zeropoint.htm

I installed them about two hours ago, everything working well so far. I've only played a 2D game so far, so I can't comment on the stability/performance, but I will do a follow up later. Be sure to uninstall the old drivers first.

Can I just say that most of these modifactions are sticking bits together from older drivers and such, it wont be low level modifactions, and your probably better off sticking with official drivers.

Are you referring to the zer0point drivers or just modded drivers in general, meaker?

Could you elaborate your statements further?

Ummm, I don't think you know what you're talking about... This set was completely based off of the Catalyst 6.3 set... It has nothing to do with the 6.2 set or the 5.12 set...
The modifications to the drivers aren't low-level, so they aren't recoded or reprogrammed by us, just tweaked. Drivers are merely tweaked by registry settings.
As for whether or not sticking with the stock drivers is the way to go is your call, but I've seen some massive performance/IQ increases with this set.

Yes I can really see an ammature set of coders really tweaking a set of drivers that has programmed by an entire team of ATI coders. They might have a screwed around with the IQ settings trying to get something that looks ok still and get better performance, but its probably a placebo on your part on the better IQ.

This goes for ALL of these sorts of drivers.

Alright Meaker that's enough, thanks . . . if you really think that way, why not download them and try them? You might like the drivers . . I do, I'm using them right now.

I'm a beta tester for ATI, I have used others and always found the originals the best, but hey each to their own. :)

A very mature response, meaker. I guess you'll call OmegaDrive an amateur too, huh? *Sigh* There's always at least one person. Always!!!

@Rakien: That's for you to decide. Try out the Omega's and try out the zer0points, then you decide which one gives you better performance and IQ. We're not here to boast that our drivers are better than anyone else's. The main point of the drivers is to provide an alternative to the stock, Omegas and other modded drivers out there :)

@Chazman: What do you think of the drivers so far? Any complaints, comments etc?

I'm going to get on CS:S soon, I'll let you know how that goes, then I plan on running a 3DMark05 (ran it last night with the stock 6.3's for comparison), so I'll edit my post when I am done. ;)

So far, so good. 2D games work fine (Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds).

    Chaz

    Update:

OK, so I tried to run 3DMark05 - it crashed when I tried to run it. I can open it up, but as soon as I hit "Run 3DMark," I get the black screen as if it is changing resolutions on my monitor, and then it freezes - can't do anything but a cold restart. I am going to reinstall 3DMark tomorrow (or, today - 1:06AM), and see if that does anything.

However, the good news is that I played BattleFront 2 perfectly, that actually seems slightly (1-2 frames) faster. So far, so good. I'll give Counter-Strike: Source a go sometime as well.

I like how you call me immature but are the first to resort to personal insults and the ( ) smiley, you can insult me all you like but compared to a team of proffesionals with the latest equipment OmegaDrive is deffinatly amaturish.

LMAO Meaker!! Perhaps you should put your ego aside and go back and read the posts in the thread again. Where have I personally insulted you? You were the one that called the zer0point team "ammatures." And I responded that it was a very "mature" response. So who insulted who first? Please elaborate further.

@Chazman: It's weird that 3DMark '05 crashed. It ran perfectly fine on my z70va w/ X700 at stock speeds.

I'm going to reinstall it today, drak0n, we'll see how it goes then. Also plan to run 3DMark06 as well, and I'll see if I can get Aquamark3 up and running.

Yes in comparison to a multi billion dollar companies software research team, it's hardly very insulting, i'd prefere if you would not try to insult my maturity since it is not needed in the forums.

I have put my opinion on the drivers accross if you don't like that then you don't have to read/reply to the posts, I wont reply to any further posts on this topic since its getting away from the topic.

LOL! You're a very funny person, Meaker. You've certainly made my day.
Oooops! Guess you might find that insulting too. Oh well :)

@Darbyjack: The tweaks are to improve Image Quality first and then performance over the stock drivers. If you prefer better IQ over Performance in your drivers, please give them a try.
