Will there be DLC for wings of liberty SC2, like map packs, and things?

Map packs? Are you kidding? That would be such a waste of life. Users can create any map Blizzard makes.
-
Im gonna do a /facepalm at Blizzard if they let Activision do that.
Just look at all the wonderful custom maps for Warcraft 3. -

If they release it for free then I guess that wouldn't be too bad, but if they release paid maps, then that'd be a double facepalm.
On a side note, I wish some of SC1's custom maps came back. Marine Defense, Tarpit Defense, CRASHED. Great maps hehe.
Oh and also WC3's Footmen Frenzy. Maybe make it Marine Frenzy or something. I'd love that XD. -
Also we need tower defence. -
There's no way they'd try to sell maps for a game with such a strong mod community.
1) Try to sell new premium maps
2) Users recreate premium maps within hours
3) ?????
4) Fail -

Well, my guess is there won't be any DLC, but Blizz already said that SC2 will be comprised of 3 games, including Wings of Liberty, so 2 more to come.

The game hasnt even been out for a week and people are already wanting DLC!?!?!?

I know there's gonna be the two expansions, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void, but I don't want to pay more than $30 for them. IMO Blizzard should just make DLCs for people with WoL so they get the full multiplayer experience. Maybe make the DLC's $10, and I'm definitely sold.
-
I cant imagine these coming out within the next 5 months
-
The game has nowhere near the simplistic, addictive charm that Footman Wars had. -
What, they already got custom maps???
Sweet! -
Isn't marketplace suppose to be released in a future patch, or something? You're suppose to be able to purchase fan made content that is approved by Blizzard.
Anyone have any further info, or a release date? -

And I can't wait for completely user-made campaigns, too. I loved custom campaigns. Considering the roundabout ways you needed to make a truly modded, custom campaign, they were impressive. There was a creator named RazorClawX who made a campaign called "Vision of the Future", a four-part, many map campaign. I didn't unsderstand a lot of the anime references, but hey.
Oh, and the mods! I loved playing and making mods. I once made a battlecruiser's yamato cannon damage a targeted unit... as well as everything in its path. -

I'd have to buy the game, first, haha.
But if the map editor is like the old editor, it should be easy. The scripts were really simple. For example "If there are [less than/more than/exactly] [X Number] of [Unit] at [Location] Execute this action.
And so on. A general golem map looked like this
Condition: Always
Action: Create X amount of "Golem" at "Location"
Wait 5 seconds
Preserve script
And, of course
Condition: Player X has 0 bunker/spawn point/what have you
Action: End game with defeat for Player X
Holy crap, I can't believe I remember this. -

I'm pretty sure I read that Blizzard plans to setup a store where user made premium maps can be sold. And according to them, their "premium" standards would be pretty high such that WC3's DotA won't likely qualify as premium. I'll try to look for that article.
-
That's fine by me. I just won't buy them.
But they can't start charging for user-made material unless they're paying said user(s). So I doubt we'll suddenly see Evolves or such being pay-to-play.
-
Blizzard will charge a percentage, and the rest will go to the map/mod maker. Probably a similar setup as the Apple App Store.
