This is going to be his last driver till the end of the summer. But I would just like to know what you guys think of it. Do you guys like the driver and does it perform as good as 185.20. I will install it now and tell you all how i like it.
-
Since, you are installing it, can you compare it to nVidia's 179.xx drivers, since i would like to know whether I should keep these or install the new DoX ones
Look forward to the results -
Again no good look. This driver sucks. Go to 185.20. It's the best driver i have tried so far.
-
Im liking the modded 181.22 the best.
-
Yeah I'm liking 181.22 (v1.1) the most.
185.20 caused my games to crash unfortunately. -
How do these compare to nVidia's 179.xx series in terms of performance in games and temps -
-
I never want to spend the hours it'd take to find "the best" driver and I never see enough gain to make it worth my while.
-
-
These drivers are excellent both on temps and performance IMO.
-
Its 182.05 not 182.50 by the way and I am PISSED he is not moding drivers for a while as they really pulled up my min framerates and made a bunch of games very smooth that where a bit choppy at times with stock nvidia drivers.
PISSED! -
any boost over the 185.20? (Non DOX'd) to 182.05
-
I really liked the 185.20 drivers but they have that atrocious sleep issue so I had to go with 181.22.
Haven't tried any Dox drivers yet. I read mixed reactions to them so I'm not sure if I should try them. -
-
For some reason 'create custom resolution' works funky on these drivers. Does anyone have a suggestion?
When I make a custom resolution, the in-game images are not scaled very well, using the in-built scaling rather than nVidia scaling.
Thanks! -
Great drivers once again from DOX. I don't know where gaming would be without all of his hard work. I like 185.20 the best though...
-
I dont need money or want anyone to donate money to me, If you'd like to donate money, donate some for pieter since it will pay for the server he has provided to host my drivers.
I've not lost interest in modding drivers, but I am beginning to struggle to find "other things" to do with them, since they are as optimised as it can get.
182.05 has good feedback on them since I integrated low level driver settings from 179.48.
From here on I got a couple more ideas to try out like choosing whether you are on desktop/laptop and from there on driver files optimised for respective systems will install based on what you choose. Previous drivers with suppport for mobile and desktop was not as "clean" as I would have liked.
Once I'm happy I've done all I can with the drivers/ lose interest, thats when I'll hang my gloves, since the only thing that keeps me going is not money/donation but curiosity, prove to myself that I can do it and when thats done, no point in carrying on because I won't have any motivation.
Who knows the future -
thanks for all of those drivers, they've really helped
-
-
He deserves some downtime -
Ill recommend these drivers, they are also overclockable.
Great work Dox, hoping to see more of your work in the future. -
I'll have to look into it more.
Does the original drivers using the modded inf from laptopvideo2go work?
BTW what res would you like to be included since I can always add it to the list for next time. -
Hey Dox, thanks for the response!
I couldn't get 1280x800 to work properly. It will display, but will 'use monitor downscaling' rather than 'nvidia scaling' and looks pretty bad.
It did work with your 185.20 drivers though. I'll try the unmodded drivers to see how they work, but I found that people had problems with both, so its likely nvidia's problem rather than an outcome of modding.
The gaming community will sorely miss your contributions -
Yeah
We are really in debt to you for all the great work you have done, man
Appreciate it very much -
Even the DOX version of 185.20 is just not stable at all.
The 182.05 is just the right mix of stability and performance. -
DOX can you add 1366 x 768 and 1600 x 900 in the future? In 185.20 I didn't have the option to make cutsom resolutions (it wasn't in the control panel) and I think for 181.22 it wouldn't work. This was my only pet peeve since I don't use sleep, so I had to use 179.28.
-
They should already be in the drivers, in this one especially.
Have you tried installing it yet 182.05 yet?
Sometimes when I add extra resolutions it MAY not show up because Nvidia for some reason doesnt "support" them, and by me forcing them into the drivers it may not 100% work for everyone. However what ever resolution I include it always works and shows up for me in the nvidia control panel and I can still create custom res. -
I really hope everything goes smooth for you DOX so you can get back to making my laptop work better as soon as possible -
Take a break man we still love ya -
All hail the mighty DOX! -bows to him as he walks off toward that good lookin' island.
-
-
And as little as it matters, 3dmark06 is up ~60 points from 179.28, to 5653, highest yet -
I have to use 185.20 inf modded drivers now. All the other 18x drivers are giving me issues all of a sudden. Man this sucks.
-
181.22 V1.1
Thats what I have and my 8800m GTS has never gone over 70C even OC'ed without a cooler. -
You can just make up your own res. guys -
Apparently, 185.20 does not work on my laptop, but Dox's 182.05 does and is keepers for now.
-
-
I don't think my 8800m GTX on my Gaetway FX has ever gone over 68C EVER. I love this laptop.
Ill just have to w8 for the 189.x or 19x drivers. -
Loving it!
My only problem is that when I right click on the desktop I dont get the NVIDIA Control Panel anymore :/
Have to go through menus to get there
Man... the 181.22 DOX Custom Drivers were about 10C cooler!!!
My Gateway's GPU fan is always on now but oh well
DOX last Driver 182.50
