After updating to DOX's new driver I have not been able to change the brightness setting at all. I've checked Vista Power Options, Samsung Display Manager and the nVidia CP with no avail![]()
Also, I can't go into Sleep manually (via the Start bar), if I try it will just lock the laptop. The only way is to close the lid and then it will Sleep (when on battery). On wake-up the brightness is, at a guess, 100% and its incredibly bright.
I wanted to know if it's some school boy error on my part or an issue with DOX's driver and if theres a fix already out. Also, if anyone else has this problem, please speak up.
Thanks in advance.![]()

Hi.
I have the same problem, seems like it affects other models as well , manufactures integrate brightness controls into the display drivers.
I found some info in the link below, but i haven't got a clue.

OK, I don't know what to do here.
Can anyone lend a hand? Am I the only one? :[ -
Same problem with 182.05
Is there a way of setting the brightness via the registry?
EDIT:
OK, I've found this;
However I have entries reffering to PowerSchemes within the subfolders of HKLM
Can someone check in their registry for these entries maybe? Thanks.
I think I will add the brightness ones in tomorrow.
