Is there a guide that shows how to enable DSR with 980M SLI?

Getting mobile DSR enabled is only half the battle for mobile SLI users. Even the desktop crowd have been getting stiffed by Nvidia with no MFAA and DSR while using SLI.

There's probably technical reasons why MFAA doesn't work in SLI. MFAA has a temporal element as it uses MSAA samples from the previous frame and blends them with samples from the current frame. This is probably why having multiple GPUs in AFR doesn't support it, because the individual GPUs can't access each other's frame data fast enough through the SLI bridge/PCIe bus. Same reason why SMAA T2x also doesn't work in SLI.

DSR does work in SLI, you just can't have G-Sync enabled at the same time.

Except for the fact that TXAA works in SLI, even though the temporal filter should not... I can't see why TXAA works but MFAA wouldn't.

If your laptop doesn't have Optimus, just go in the Nvidia panel and create a custom resolution for whatever you want to downsample to 1080p.

For instance, make a 2560x1440 res and you can then choose it in your games.

Well then let's hope Nvidia makes it work. Another consideration is that even if MFAA does eventually work in SLI, having it enabled may hurt scaling since we have already seen that with TXAA in some cases.

Could you point out where? I've not tried it in Ubisoft titles, but it has never hurt my scaling in any game I've ever used it in. If Ubisoft-only titles are the examples, I'd rather pin it on Ubisoft's unoptimization rather than the technology itself being an issue. I've seen performance hits that were quite large, but my actual scaling has always been fine (I.E. if my limit was 90% on each card with it off like in GTA V, it remains 90% on each card after).

Mainly Ubisoft games (SC:B, AC, WD), so yeah it's probably #Ubitimization. :p

Maybe Nvidia should re-hire Timothy Lottes to make MFAA work with SLI. :3

Yes I have a 1440p profile right now, and it shows up in all of my games.

The main benefits of DSR are the higher factors (not everyone can create a custom res that is 4x native) and adjustable filter
