Hi, i m planning to buy the hp DV5000 with xpress 200m from ati?

I was perplexed by the confusing 128dedicated+128intergrated.

I ve done some research and it says that xpress 200m is just intergrated graphics... but some people said its dedicated+intergrated...

I was gonna buy this one cuz its cheaper than the dv4000... and i wanna be play games on dv5000. I play like fps's and RTS like AOE III... wonder if it works on dv4000?

Ps. I m taking the 128mb video option. what does that do?:hp:

The 128MB Hypermemory will be 128MB of dedicated but you can go into the BIOS and give it another 128MB from your system memory, giving you 256MB total. But that's kind of unnecessary since the X200M isn't very powerful as it is. The 128MB dedicated is enough since the limiting factor here is the GPU's power.

The dv4000 with the X700 option is by far a much better system for gaming use.

I'm looking at the dv5000z with dedicated 200M because I won't be playing games on my notebook, but I want full Vista compatibility (Aero).

If you plan on gaming, I would not buy the dv5000z. Sure, it is a well designed notebook, but it is geared toward mainstream use and multimedia.

The X200M is an integrated GPU - however, HP has given it dedicated memory. It can borrow an additional 128MB from your main system memory.

The X700 is four times as powerful as the X200M.

Have you taken a look at the Compaq V4000t? That is the dv4000, just in a different case. Cheaper than the dv4000 when similarly equipped. www.HPShopping.com.

Yeah I am thinking about getting the dv5000z as well. I want it for watching videos, surfing the net, and typing papers. I hope the battery is indeed good!
