    Hi all,

I´m from Czech Republic and new notebooks with new graphic cards GF 8XXX aren ´t available yet ( we must still wait  ). That´s why I ask you for checking out new DX10 Demoes ( http://www.gamershell.com/download_19165.shtml - Lost Planet: Extreme Condition DirectX 10 Demo and http://www.gamershell.com/download_19492.shtml - Call of Juarez DirectX 10 Benchmark )

I know there are the results of 3DMark06 with new GF 8XXX in the forum but I´ll appreciate the existence of the results FPS, resolution and details in these games. ( Please, test GF 8600 GT, 8600 GS, 8400 GT, 8400 GS )

I apologize for my English

I ordered a Asus G1S yesterday and I will gladly test out those demos when I get them, but it will be a few days. I am sure that someone will be able to provide you with that information sooner but just in case, I got you right here.

I am also getting a G1S, but mine is also a few days out. I will also get in on the pool of game testers.

I have CoH, HL2, CS:S, Oblivion, Civ IV.

I am thinking of getting CC3.

Maybe a team of us can compile a list combine them later.

I want to see a benchmark of Oblivion! I wonder if your incredible system will be able to run it at 1680x1050 with HDR and high settings. I wonder though. But I sure hope that the 8600GT is strong enough for that.

I also have access to many recent games, although I will not be the one to test overclocking :)

Same here nightfox91, no overclocking by me either. ;)

Oh man, that would be great if it could handle it.

Lost Planet sucks. DX 10 performance is no better than DX9 in most cases its worse, and there is no extra visuals there to compensate.

Call of Juarez looks amazing from screen shots, maybe it was coded much better.

Agreed, the only noticable difference in Lost Planet DX10 is a higher quality motion blur. Definitely not worth the massive performance loss.

I can run the DX9 demo pretty much maxed out at 1280x720 though and it's fine for the most part. I find the motion blur makes it seem like its running fine, even at low frame rates.

Not suprised ;) You have the fastest and best hard drive avaible for now in that machine.

Just can't wait for some serious benchmarks!

Well, I knew they were back ordered when I ordered the computer so I definitely walked into it. But I was unwilling to compromise, to me, it is worth it. ;)

So the word from GenTech is that the HDD will becoming in at the end of the week. I live on the east coast and GenTech is in California, according to UPS (the shipper ;)) It will take 4 days to get here (*begins to cry ever so softly*). I am hoping to have it by next Wednesday (one week)(eeek).

The G1s will most definitely not be able to run Call of Jaurez in DirectX 10 mode at full settings, if the demo is any indication - because my 8800GTS got an average framerate of 16 at that very resolution with full settings.

Have been testing Company of Heroes. Looks freaking amazing. Runs very smooth without any issue. Call of Duty 2 no problem. Battlefield 2 and 2142 I keep the setting on medium because I like the higher resolution and high frame rates. I don't have oblivion, but I am interested to see how that runs. Also I'm not sure if it is the CPU or what, but my friends 7900 GS looks choppy when playing Battlefield 2142 on high, while mine looks great.

DirectX 10 patch for company of heroes is a pile of garbage. They need to fix some stuff. I will be downloading DirectX 10 demo tonight. I will get back to you guys.

So far for a laptop its pretty damn good. My desktop is running a 7900 GT and this does not look all that bad for a laptop. Also I ran 3Dmark 2006 and got scores closer to 4K like in the review and not like the site. Also I am still using my 5400 rpm drive which I don't believe effects that benchmarking. I think my score was like 3800 something. I did give it a fresh install and got rid of a lot of bloatware. Some of the stuff is cool, but a lot is not needed.

Also with the screen turned down and WI-FI on I got over 3 hours of battery life.

Overall very pleased for laptop that is mobile yet powerful.

Dont expect 8800 GTS performance, but as far as notebooks goes this thing rocks. I would probably put this on par with a 7900 GS. The only difference is that my friends dell is huge with poor battery life.

If your looking for a DTR with super powerful graphics hold off for the Go 8800's, but if not stick with this bad boy.

Only complaint is the lights. Overall looks very professional. Could do without the side light things. I always have the setting off (also they only flash when playing games), but other than that I take this to work with me everyday.

Yea looking at some reviews 8800 GTX's score pretty bad. It seems there is a lot of coding or driver issues they need to iron out for DirectX 10.

How's that possible? I have the same card and I get 60+ fps in both games with maxed out settings. Hmmmmmm.....

He probably only has a gig of ram and a slower CPU. Also his whole computer is slow, so I'm sure he has some other problems.

Hell my old 8600 with the 9600 pro plays battlefield 2. Its on extremely low setting with limited viewing but it plays.

Oh yea and I'm not sure he has everything set up right. He upgraded to Vista.
