    Hi all!

I've got a G73jh-A2, stock clocks, CCC 11.8 w/ mobility HD5870. Anyway, I wanted to bring up an issue I've been having since forever and I have yet to find a solution online: when I want to drop the screen resolution of a game, in full screen mode, to a resolution that's below my native resolution of 1920 x 1080, it will stretch and fit the whole screen space IF it is in DX9 mode. So so say I want to play Metro 2033 at 1600 X 900 resolution, I'd have to put it on DX9 mode if I want it to stretch out and fit the whole screen since if I put it onto DX10 or DX11 mode, an resolution I select for it that's below my native res will put it in a letterbox in the center of the screen with the unfilled space on the screen filled with black space instead of stretching it to the whole screen. I've tried going into CCC and making it fit to screen and it doesn't change a thing, I can only play in DX9 mode if I want to a below-native res stretching to increase my FPS. Is there a solution to making this stretching happen in DX10 and DX11? Thank you!

i know that for nvidia cards you can change the scaling options in the nvidia control panel, so maybe take a look in there.

Try changing the screen to non native, then enter CCC to change the scaling to either full screen or maintain image ratio.

Thank you for your suggestions! I have actually already tried that, but I eventually found a way to get it to work by lowering my desktop resolution and then going into the game and lowering the game's resolution. Not a total fix since DX9 mode would just make the game fit regardless of desktop res.

I am gonna do some testing on this for you as well. To see if mine will black box at non native.
