    Hey,

So GOW was not working, but after numerous hours I figured out a way to make it work. I d/l the update and fiddled around with the launch programs etc.. so this happend a few months ago. I basically stoped playing GOW for a couple of months and I tried to run it today but I got an error message. I think its because I defragmented.

Anyways, Im trying to uninstall it now and I get an error-

Error1316. A network error occured while attempting to read from C:Windows\Installer\Gears of War.msi
After that, I press ok and the unistaller closes and states a fatal error occured and I should consult .msi and finally closes.

just delete the folder, it will still be in the registry and stuff but will not take up the space

Do that so you can still install it at a later time w/o it giving u an error that its already installed.
And if that doesn't work go in the registry manually and clean it out

Thats what I was exactly thinking- but...

    1) Will it still show up in Add/Remove programs? If so how do I delete that ?

    2) How do I know which registry entries to delete ?

Also, would you guys know why this happened ?

Use a program called "Your Uninstaller"

It will uninstall ANY program even when it's impossible in any other way, it will also clean the registry and will search for all the leftovers.

This program has been one of the "Must Have Apps" for me a looooong time. ;)
