How do you pirate a primarily online game?
-
Not really. BF3 LE Origin price is $60, while the retail BF3 PC Limited Edition in steelbook (with free Physical Warfare Pack, Dog Tag Pack and Specact Kit Upgrade DLC code) will be $47 here
-
I don't know, I'm not the one saying "most people will pirate BF3". I'm not an expert in pirating software.
-
People can pirate anything given enough time.

You linked to the images page on google. The Concept - SteelBook™ - Premium Digital Media DVD Packaging & Blu-ray Packaging
On that website there is no evidence that they sell BF3? So where is this $47 price tag you talk about? Gamestop is a retailer in the US and they have it listed for $59.95, Wal mart is $59.95, Best buy/fry's is $59.95, the list goes on and on. So lets not keep posting false information.
Also, your 30% figure is still wrong because it would be $41.96.

Lol, I even just found this steel book edition (only sold in Sweden) you speak of, and it is 399 Kronar in Sweden which = $60.

If it was on sale that makes no difference, because I got BF3 for $45(25% off w/ early beta Access, Physical Warfare pack, back to karkand) through Origins.

I don't know either, I was just curious how this was accomplished considering you need an account and a key to play. This will suck if it's a random key generator and end up losing my key because of it.
-
I would not worry about that stuff HTWingNut .
If your key gets duped somehow they will ban the key and give you a new one so its not very complicated.
I have seen it happen before and it was no biggie getting it straightened out. -
No1 sad that its $47 in the US
Just for the record:
BF3 LE Steelbook 8.990 Hungarian Forint (HUF) -> 46.2 USD

ROFL at anyone angry about Origin vs Steam.
I think EA are just be smart and I think Activision or any other large publisher like Bethesda should do the exact same as EA. Digitally distribut their games on their own systems. Why give your share of the profits to Valve? Two thumbs up to EA I say.
And of course this whole lets boycott Origin because it's evil EA and support the not evil Valve with their DRM Steam... Right... whatever. It will be the same as let's BoyCott MW2 and then later find out it's the best selling game that year, ROFL!
BF3, ME3, DA3, Star Wars MMO and other games to come will make Origin a guaranteed success. If Activision was smart they should get their version up and running and release the next COD on that. Ubisoft should have had theirs up and running and had Deus Ex and AC: Brotherhood and future AC as exclusive on their version of digital distribution. Why give money to Valve? I don't get it. EA seems to be on the ball to me. Then these companies should setup their digital distribution on the Xbox and Playstation networks.
As for pirating BF3 sure. The ones who will are the ones only interested in Single Player only. These are players who would never have bought the game anyway! Wouldn't have mattered if it was on Steam or not. The ones who do care about Multi-Player will have Origin installed and running on day 1 release of BF3. These are addicts. They are addicted to these games, it's like crack for them. They can't help themselves and EA knows this. And they will make more money off these addicts once they start releasing DLCs etc later. Wouldn't surprise me if BF3 sells around 10 million and probably 70% of that will be bought on Origin, 100% of profits going to EA, no middle men like Valve in the way. This will be awesome for EA. -

Ok, One site in Hungary has it for 10% off not 30%. The way you said it in your original post was that RETAIL is cheaper, which it clearly is not the case and that is a sale btw. I got my BF3 from Origin for $44.99.
My whole point was thisIs incorrect no where near 30%. -

i love this kinds of posts

I read through a few pages of this and then impulse-downloaded Crusader: No Remorse. Impressive, because I don't normally succumb to overwhelming nostalgia.
Only game of value ever produced by Origin. -

lol....you clowned and schooled him all in the same post....lol. CLASSIC.
-
Why wouldn't you? It's true. Every year these addicts go on and on about how they will boycott these FPS games because they are ignoring PC gamers etc. And now being bum hurt about EA Origins. Yet they always buy the games and spend 500-1000 hours on them. It's the same story. Whining and complaining about EA, Origins, COD, etc has become the cool thing to do on the internet. Yet these hypocritical addicts will buy the games just as they will install Origins and buy BF3 from Origins. Can disagree with me if you want, but the sales numbers in Q4 for EA Origins will prove me right.
Also great response, you're so cool with what seems to be on average all one can expect from forum posts. -
So judging by your bold statement, you are implying that any one who preorders a multiplayer game is a videogame addict with no life?
"also great response chief, you are so cool with your extraneous statements, any one can expect form an internet troll" -
Well...yeah in a short way. I have a strong will and I will never give into this stupid scam of EAs. I agree with hulwafu77. 100%, you will buy it anyway unless you're tough in the mind, this is the problem that circles PC gamers.
Buy an Indie game. They have love put into them. -
The Wing Commander series would like to have a word with you.
-
Hyperbole is not becoming. Selling a game for money is not a scam. I don't see how paying money for games is a problem that plagues PC gamers.
The problem that actually plagues PC gamers is the fact that morons think they are entitled to free games, and therefore companies feel the need to implement increasingly oppressive DRM mechanisms to protect their revenue stream. If idiots weren't dedicating inordinate amounts of time and energy to ripping off software, there wouldn't be any problems. -
Anyone saw this yet:
Only one Battlefield 3 soldier allowed per player? - Battlefield 3
