    Hey guys,

Most of you have probably read "The Divine Comedy" by Dante Alighieri in high school or college, and I was just surpirsed that EA's actually developing a game for it.

When I read "The Divine Comedy," I never envisioned Dante to be an iron-clad mix of Kratos from God of War and Ryu from Ninja Gaiden. Haha. Not to mention that the developers have somewhat done a "new" take on the classical piece of literature by having Dante save St. Beatrice from the clutches of Lucifer himself.

Nevertheless, I would still give the game a try, after seeing the awesome trailer, screenshots, and gameplay concepts.

Check out the trailer and other footage of the upcoming game:

Somewhat old news since I read this on gamespot weeks ago. It's made by the same developers as Dead Space and if they do as good as a job on this game as they did with their first work I'll consider a purchase.

I know it's quite dated already... But searched around the forums and no one's posted anything about it yet.

Anyways, the fact that it's made by the same developers of Dead Space is a plus for this game. I do hope they port it to the PC though, but not as an MMORPG-type game, but rather a single player adventure w/ some multiplayer capability...

No it's not. And that's part of what makes it so asinine.

It's just Todd MacFarlane's Inferno. What? Am I too late by a half decade or so for that joke?

The game, and everything we've seen about it so far, is just oblivious to the source material. They picked out all the stuff about "rings of Hell" and anything that sounded metal and ditched the rest. I'm not saying it's like what would happen if Michael Bay directed "Schindler's List," but it's in that vein.

I'll just be blunt and say it: When I first heard about the game, I thought whoever made the press release was high and/or an idiot. Admittedly, Inferno could have possibly been a great point-and-click adventure, but whoever decided that poor old Dante was some sort of guy who went into hell to beat up legions of demons was either retarded, or they thought of this Dante, which doesn't necessarily eliminate the stupid and/or stoned theory...
This game is one of the reasons why I think humanity is doomed for extinction. Advice to the devs: read the bloody book!

When I read the article it was posted in the PC section of Gamespot's website. It's going to be similar to Dead Space in that there's probably no multiplayer.

Nah, the Italian Dante will win. He has Virgil AND Beatrice to help him out :D

...oh crap, please don't tell me those will be playable characters, or participate in the fighting...
