It will be hilarious if the PC version is locked to 1024x720 again

lol I'm hoping the guys at Fromsoft have finally figured out how to do a PC port. Plus, I think it will help that a PC version is in the works this early in the game. It allows them to take their time porting it, instead of a rushed job after the game is released. Maybe I'm biased since the first game is probably my favorite of this generation, but I have faith in them.

And it's an easy fix getting DkS to run in 1080 :D The real problem lies in the janky multiplayer in the PC version. Every time you try to summon or invade it fails, when the ps3 version works pretty much every time.

    and @30fps you mean?

But I think it should be understandable consider it is made by Japanese and PC game have 0 market there.

Yeah, it would have been nice if they had let someone with more experience do the port, but I'm optimistic about DkSII. Now they have a couple years for PC development instead of a rushed 8 months.

You sure it's a couple of years? I read that this will be a current gen title, which suggests 2013 release date.

No release date yet, I was just guessing it end up with 2 years of development. They probably started shortly after DkS shipped last October, so if it releases the end of 2013 that would be 2 years. It's how FromSoft has typically developed and released the Souls Series. Demon's Souls 2009, Dark Souls 2011, Dark Souls II 2013, etc. Could be wrong though :)

When the PC version of Dark Souls was announced I thought I would try Demon's Souls on PS3 before I gave it a shot. After about an hour I knew I would be skipping Dark Souls, be skipping this one too. Horrible clunky controls to artificially make a game "hard" is not a good method to create a game. From software's apparently ultra lazy port of Dark Souls is a good enough reason to stay away from this one.

lol you played Demon's Souls for an hour, you know nothing about what makes the game challenging. It sure isn't the "clunky" controls.

It's tough, but you can always summon help for boss fights if things prove too challenging. I played Demon's Souls two years after it came out so there was no online community. Forced me to beat the entire game solo. That was hard lol. They're by far the most rewarding games I've ever played though. I spent dozens of hours learning the nuances of the game world, memorizing every nook and cranny and item and secret. Once I had that down, I got into online pvp. The game's systems have so much depth, you could play for thousands of hours and still learn new things.

Baka is definitely looking forward to this :D Though it might be later than 2013 for it to be relased for the PC ._. Perhaps 2014 even. They'll most probably release it on consoles, iron out some bugs and then port it over after some time

Dark Souls has a somewhat nice "Story" too

Hopefully we won't have to wait too long :)

Since they're already planning the pc release this early in development, there shouldn't be too much of a delay. There was a 10 month delay for the pc version of Dark Souls, but they didn't start the port until well after the game had shipped. It would be great if they could release on all 3 platforms around the same time.

And I loved the game's narrative. It was vague and mysterious, but there is a lot of optional clues and plot points for those who are interested. It can take a couple playthroughs to really understand all the characters' motivations and the history of Lordran. Good stuff :D

After finishing Dark Souls New game ++ for the 3rd time, i actually find replaying Demon Souls to be a little bit of a challenge :D
And based on Dark Soul 2's trailer i can assume the age of fire did not last? And i thought the dragons were extinct already o.o so what's up with the Kalameet look-a-like dragon

The game takes place in a different world with a different Hero. They're calling it Dark Souls II, but it's a reboot like Dark Souls was for Demon's Souls. What's your psn ID? I still pick up and play Demon's Souls from time to time if you want to get together for some jolly coop or pvp :D

And beastly 3DMark11 score man! 8500 Graphics score ftmfw

From Software should hand the PC port duty to a dev that's good at programming for PC. If not, I hope they bring in some PC talent to help make this game great. You'd think these devs would want to see "their baby" in all its glory, with the power only a PC can bring?? Why bork the damn thing? They admitted that they weren't too hot at PC programming. So; great! Thanks for being honest. Now do yourself, and us, a favor and get some people that'll make your game look gorgeous.

Agreed completely, I hope they can use the longer development time to make a really great pc port. Though I'd still play it and love it even if it were another crappy no-frills port lol. Dark Souls is an amazing game, it deserves a proper pc port.
