    Why are there no DDR2-800 for the new Santa Rose Laptops?

    Because DDR2-800 isn't out for notebooks yet; I think they are trying to get some of the latencies out of the products right now.

    Actually, DDR2-800 SODIMMS have arrived during the past few weeks, but there is a price premium of around 50%. Look at Crucial, for example.

    It's going to be a while for this price differential to erode. Until then, few manufacturers will be willing to use these modules and put up the bottom line price.
