    Has anyone played Dead Island on PC? I ignored it at release, but see that there are a lot of good mods out there and DLC still being released.

    So has anyone had experience with the game?

    I've played a few hours of it with friends. It reminds me of Borderlands, without the cartoony graphics. It's pretty fun, but it's definitely more so with friends than alone.

    It's like a mix of Borderlands and Fallout 3 in a way. It was fun for me, nothing I'll play again though.

    I think Dead Island is a horrid piece of bugness. D;
    (My personal opinion so dont flame.)

    I played some 4 player coop located in ViciousXUSMC's YouTube channel.

    But i guess its decent if you dident pay full price.
    And it has yet to see a DLC release for the game, Techland said they would work on fixing bugs but cant say i seen much of that yet.

    Played it for maybe 3 hours, then kinda gave up. The combat is kind of neat but the story is mostly fetching missions and AI is laughable.

    I'll second (or third) the Borderlands comparisons. If you liked that, you might like this.

    While the game was fun, it was definitely a bit buggy. e.g., completing one of the quests warped me to a different, unexplored part of the island that I wasn't supposed to be at for quite some time. I'm sure that's been fixed by now, but I haven't kept up with developments in the game since I beat it (~57 hours, if that tells you anything, and I got the game at launch).

    I certainly enjoyed it for what it was. I'm a fan of zombies, sandbox games, RPG-style character leveling and loot, and Dead Island definitely delivered. I think the devs got the whole "zombie movie" atmosphere right, and I really enjoyed Borderlands.

    That said, DI is not a game I would recommend to someone on the fence unless he or she had a great love of zombies and/or Borderlands. I've had friends pick up the game, and they told me they couldn't get into it. They also weren't the biggest zombie or Borderlands fans, either. :D

    I finished it with my bro (2 player coop all the way!) and it was some good intense fun. :D I would say definitely get this game if you have someone you know to play with you, otherwise don't bother coz playing online with random ppl sucks & playing alone isn't that fun either. :p

    It has been patched to be better than it was at release.

    It still has some issues though. The game was major hyped per-release so me and Deagle got it thinking it would be a fun game and great for a 4 player LP.

    Despite the fact we are quite vocal about picking on the game for its flaws and bugs I think we still enjoy it overall.

    Here is the actual playlist for it, just check out a few videos and see how the game plays and it should help you decide if you want to buy it or not.
