i've been eyeballing Dead Island for a while, and now it's on sale, again, at amazon (steam redeemable): Amazon.com: Dead Island [Download]: Video Games

i'm torn on whether i should get it now, or wait for it to get cheaper. for whoever owns it, is it worth $15?

note: most of my time would be spent playing it 'sans amis'

... Not as good as it could be, definitely was a let down for me personally.

    However its easily worth $15

I don't think it would be as fun alone. I mean, its a good game...but it's just more fun when stomping zombies with a friend.

Two thumbs up from me! I enjoyed it a lot... hadn't had that much fun with survival horror since Resident Evil 2... and it's online co-op, with obligatory voice communication on, at least until I found out how to switch it off... which created a lot of hilarious moments :p

I bought it at $24 and wish I waited. Now $15 is a steal, and I only played it 25 minutes so far...

this is the kind of game you should play with other people. I have a blast going through the cheesy story with 2 of my friends. Worth every penny!

The game was extremely boring for me when playing alone. Hopped onto multiplayer and the game became much more funner.

It's definitely a much better experience with friends. If you've ever played Borderlands, imagine that, but zombies.

I did not like it. The head smashing, throat slashing videos looked awesome, but game play was not as fun. Serious Sam 3 is waaaaay more fun.

This game will keep getting cheaper. I'm pretty much expecting it to hit $10 or less for the Steam Summer Sale.

That's what I'm hoping for. I have a giant backlog, and I'm just trying to justify getting it now, instead of waiting. I'm probably better off waiting, though patience is not what I'm known for...

you too huh? this amazon game deals thread and steam sales have easily contributed ~5 new games in the past 2 months...even with a backlog. Mass Effect 2, Darksiders, dow2:chaos rising and retribution, portal 2....must....resist...>_<

I recently bought KF (Steam), DD, Payday, BFBC2 and DKS (Amazon). I'll wait for this game...

If you have a buddy or two that are willing to play DI with you, go for it. It's well worth the money. However, if you plan on playing solo, it's not as fun.

its better made in coop, the island is lonely as it is already. so with some friends smashing zombies and taking a stroll beside the shores is fun :)

Game is not bad alone. other people usually tend to be too stupid or rush through things when I couldn't read the story yet.

I love this game. I still play it a lot, and have never used the online feature (don't like playing online in general).

Make sure to use a controller and the analog fight system, though...

I definitely recommend playing with friends. Makes the game more fun. We have this in a rotation with a few other multi player games like Left 4 Dead 2.
