This game is awesome at 720p.

Yep. It's so poorly optimized the only way to play it w/o stuttering during the cut scenes to play it at 720p. Hopefully nvidia will release some drivers or Capcom will patch it but yeah. Total biscuit did a video about how his Titan even dips on that game. -
Which is why I thought this was a troll as "awesome at 720p" is an oxymoron.

I had to get used to the blurriness but its a great game once you can look past it. -
I can't, otherwise I'd be gaming on peasant boxes.

I hear ya. I'm actually reluctantly playing it, hoping something will happen before the end of the week. I may end up shelving it until its fixed. I've playing D3 a lot lately and still working on my Crusaders set. -

but the game wont even start?how did you managed to start the game?my cousin has the game and he always gets exe stopped working on loading screen before menu of the game
-
Dmitri, did you tell your cousin to verify the game files through Steam? Does his system meet the insane minspec?

For what its worth, I'm using the previous WHQL driver; not the most recent one. -

There's a lot of people having similar issues...some were resolved with a patch they pushed out a day or so ago that added about 1.7 gig worth of files. It only effected those who didn't buy their game through steam. -
The game is 100% broken and simply does this for some people. The steam forums (as Modern War Negro pointed out) are rife with people complaining, and Crapcom has been commenting on it going on about how only people with keys purchased from outside of steam have those issues. Like, what? How does where you got your key from affect the STEAM COPY OF A GAME? Anyway... game's broke. Wait for a fix if it doesn't work, or inform valve that the game cannot be played and you demand a refund (which they should adhere to, since it's a known issue that the game refuses to launch for a fairly large amount of people).
As for performance issues... the minute they said a GTX 570 was the min requirements as well as 6GB of RAM, it should have been an INSTANT tell that the game was optimized about as well as using a mountain goat to drive nascar. Xbox 1 is barely better than a core 2 quad with a 570 and it runs the game on high at 720p. -
Actually a 480 (570) can't even be underclocked far enough to match an Xbone, but it can be crippled to equal a PS4.
How the hell is Negro not filtered?

My mind has been blown. -
What's even more mind-blowing is the apparent incompetence in the rest of that post.
-
Laptop... graphics... fall... outside... the minimum... sp...e...c....s.... whot? Coulda sworn my laptop chewed up and spit out two taped-together PS4s for breakfast.

Quite obvious microsoft are failing in sales so they are porting everything to the pc for a crash grab. Sad because the xbox 360 had some amazing titles i myself as a hardcore pc master raceian actually invested in an xbox 360 and a ps3 but the current gen consoles the xbone and the peasantbox4 are rather dull IMHO would never blow my cash on them heaps of garbage. (BTW sarcasm attached to post dont get mad).

Is this capcom in the US or in Japan? DMC and castlevania weren't that bad, optimization wise.
-
Those might be fine, but USF4 took weeks before it worked well; SSF4 AE 2012 for PC when it did the steam update broke for a few weeks too. Dead Rising 3 is broken as we see, and Lost Planet 3 had some serious problems.
I wonder if it's the port studios that are doing it? I don't think every game is ported by the same studio. Either way, Capcom should have a certain level of quality as a baseline for their PC releases, and it seems to not have that. Activision is the same way. What can I say? Never pre-order. -

I want to say this is out of the folks in Vancouver -
Did they get hired from Ubisoft Montreal?
-

Honestly, I have no idea. I just recall reading it somewhere that folks in Vancouver were in charge of the port. I may be wrong, probably am.

Nope. I'm not wrong! -

does anyone play this?post some benchmarks..im interested whats your minimum avg and max framerate
-
I still get lag on SLI 780ti's ocassionally, but I have to admit after doing the SLI bits in configurator it runs well and looks amazing.TBoneSan likes this.
-
I get mostly 60fps constant with 780ti SLI
-
Curious, which compatibility bits are you using? There's a few that work now.

So they pushed out a 10mb patch the other day and it seemed to smooth a lot of the cut scenes stuff out for me. I went ahead and lowered the shadows to low because medium just looked way too terrible and the game is beyond playable at 1080p.

random crashes with nvidia

For those with crashes - try the new drivers out. -
Getawayfrommelucas Notebook Evangelist
This is from a week ago - so I probably won't mess with these drivers because the game is running good enough on my machine.
