Hi, I bought Dead Space 2 today and installed it. I opened it up and started the new game, there was a 5 minute or so of replay to tell the story and fps was only 35. Once it ended and I got to the point where I can control the character, the fps is at constant 7-9. The settings was at MAX, Very High. So I changed it to LOW, MINIMUM, still 7-9 fps. What is going on? I had a feeling that there might be a game update i could download for Dead Space 2 to fix any problems that might relate to the issues I'm currently experiencing. I doubt it's the drivers but it might be so. I'm on stock driver 11.1 by Sager. This laptop is 1 month old. I play Battlefield 2 Bad Company at MAX at 1920x1080 with 70 fps. Civilization V, blazing smooth. Mafia II at 65 fps. Starcraft II at 50 fps.

    Thank you for your reply.

Are you absolutely sure? Will my windows 7 save the older driver somewhere else so I can revert back to it if 11.6 is worse?

I downloaded the 11.6 driver and I proceed to the point where you browse where the file goes, I left it changed, which is c:/AMD/Catalyst_Mobility_64-Bit_Util and I clicked Install and it said "AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer. Your computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter."

Dead Space 2 @ native resolution of 1680x945p w/ max game settings plays absolutely fine on my system with a GTX 460m card. Your system should have no problems with it.

How are you downloading it? Possibly try Origin (if not already using it).

I downloaded the 11.6 driver from AMD website. I have 64 bit Windows 7 and the 6970M.

    Hmmm, Ok simple fix
when you extracted the file to C:\Ati\support\11-6_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl\config go there and look for this file
Installmanger.CFG and open it with note pad all the way at the bottom will be workaroundinstall =false change this to true and try it again.
