Hi all. I got Dead Space 2 the night it released for midnight release. Even though I had the game it wasnt playable till 10 A.M on the 25th so I had to wait till later this morning to actually play it. It didnt bother me though, I had other stuff I needed to do some got upset though but what eva.

My review will be a bit vague as I have been messing with other things with deadspace2 then coming up with what to post in a review. I will start off by saying the multiplayer is a blast for sure. There are a few things I hope EA will add like maybee a campaign mode and a few more modes where its not just about capturing objectives. I think for how great the single player game is and since this is a single player game to begin with EA really did a excellent job with the multiplayer.

The single player has been really raved about and for good reason. While I haven't played even an hour of single player I am really involved with it what I have played so far. The graphics in this game are some of the best I have ever seen in any game also. Also the gameplay and more the feel of controlling especially the humans in multiplayer give a sense of almost weight to them like you can feel them. It really adds to the emersion of the play style.

All in all I would definitely recommend buying this. It is one of my favorite games I can tell already and enjoy it alot. Here is a video of how my Lenovo Ideapad Y460 plays the game. All settings are maxed out with fraps.

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FKL_SUWp1kM?hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FKL_SUWp1kM?hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='425' height="344"></embed></object>

Heres single player vid at 720p,

No thanks EA. Not shelling out anything full price again, especially when the full price has been raised by $10.

Looks really cool, but I'm not really a fan of third-person shooters.

Did they add 5 button mouse support? Honestly, the original Dead Space was way too monotonious and repetitive for me. I'm not willing to buy a sequel for more than $5

Do you think you could go more in-depth about the multiplayer system? How do the maps feel? How balanced do you think the two races are?

I'm getting my hopes up a little I guess because DS1 didn't exactly have the most fluid combat or anything but it would be nice to see a predominantly SP game where MP didn't feel tacked on. (ugh bioshock 2)

Thanks for the details so far though. Pretty much touched most of my interests in the game w/o a wall of text.

Well as they say your mileage may vary. I havent played many new games as of recently so my feelings to something new will vary greatly then yours I would gather heh.

Not having played alot I can say few things. As far as gameplay is concerned though, although the experience is very well controlable more so then many games I have played, it gives you a feeling of weightedness like how half life differs from something like battlefield2. It has its on unique feeling and that alone makes it fun for me but the maps are moslty for now capture objectives based and that is all. You either have to press f on certain terminals to advance or cary something to another location and proceed on. I would imagine that they will be adding other facets to there great multiplayer in this aspect but for now it is fun as it is and evolving enough to make you want to keep coming back for more. Like I said this isnt going to be a battlefield or COD like multiplayer. This is an single player game.

The maps feel well, basic to put it bluntly. They do have a sence of imersion to them and the graphics in them are stunning to say the least lol. What I want is a campaign mode, something story driven for players to work togather at that would be cool.

The two races, well balance is good for me but for others it might be different. I think though the feeling I get is its going to be popular for long time and I hope they add more to the multiplayer side of it. A multiplayer expansion would be cool as hell now that I think of it would fit perfectly in this game. There balanced enough to where its fun and you dont notice it being unbalanced. The necromorphs get abilities as do the humans, there is a leveling system to keep it fun and on going.

Will the PC version also come with Extraction? I've read that the PS3 version of the game comes with an HD version of that title.

A lot of the cool stuff from the first they removed. Being trapped in small spaces in a derelict spacecraft with mining weapons has more 'horror' than open spaces with high powered weapons. They removed the 'horror' and replaced it with a simple shooter IMO. Still, it's a decent game.

    My thoughts exactly.

That might actually be almost worth it. The question is: how do you manage that? Did EA give you a bulk deal and you're selling them 50% cheaper than everyone else? Never been a big fan of resellers on ebay, weird things usually occur when you deal with them. I'd also prefer Steam.

Watch the gameplay videos on youtube. Honestly, this looks like a really awesome game.. But I would personally prefer playing it on the xbox360 or ps3.

Its funny that you mention that cause in my small town of 20k people in nebraska I got the only PC game of Dead Space 2, all the rest were xbox 360 and ps3 for the midnight release. I had to go twice though, once for pre purchasing it and then buying it at midnight. I asked when they were getting some more PC dead space 2 in and the guy said he had no clue. So weird to me that having a midnight release they bring in 1 PC game and thats it. The guy at gamestop said people dont buy PC that much, I was like there are PC games everywhere, Target, walmart but what ever.

from the reviews and video reviews I've seen so far, they all seem to say that near the end of the game, the environment is very dead space 1ish again. I haven't played yet, so I can only guess you probably go back to another ship or something at some point.

I've found someone else who bought them in bulk so I'm his reseller. I've sold 12 so far and had zero problems. And for steam, I just added a shortcut to my steam account. This way I don't even have to start EADM. The game runs straight off of Steam. If you'd like to buy one, send me a pm.

to the OP: one thing I noticed is that you all really suck at playing. Besides you sound like you'll fall a sleep or something. The game however looks the same as dead space 1, just with different maps perhaps. Even the creatures look the same.

I mean dead space 1 is one of my favorite games. When I was playing it late at night on headphones .. oh man, I had to turn around from time to time to make sure there's nobody behind me in the room. I showed the game to some girl friend of ours one day, and when she was leaving to the grocery store she asked if it were safe .. LOL.

    nonetheless I bet DS2 is a good game :D

I don't know what your talking about, I take pride in how good I play. Sound like im falling asleep, well that is an issue with windows and fraps copying over my comentary. I need another micrphone cause of win 7 conflicting issues.

I would glady play you in black ops or deadspace2 multiplayer match any time. I have played first person shooters since quake 1 and have recently added a new logitech G700 mouse to my acessories list which ups my game alot.

I would suggest to you moving towards an attitude of "If you dont have anything good to say then dont say it at all" cause your crap stinks bad, REALLY BAD. :)

Currently on Chapter 10 of the first Dead Space, two chaps to go.

I'll pick up DS2 in the Steam Summer Sale. For me, 2011 is about killing my backlog.

Am at Chapter 4, at the moment. Got to say that it is working pretty well for me, no major (or even minor, for that matter) technical issues. The UI seems a little bit console-centric, in that the controls were clearly designed for use with a gamepad, but it's okay. I'll take my mouse and keyboard for shooters any day, thanks.

Need to go get me a crack for the game, though. Internet here has been really erratic these past few days. Can't even get on Minecraft sometimes, let alone Steam. Hmm. Offline mode 4tw?

I was just honest. I just watched half of your first video again .. you seem to die about every 30 sec. Not to mention that when you shoot you dont move at all, when you have to turn you first turn then move .. Now I dont know what you play or have played before, but in shooter games a good player will be in constant move, and wont stop when turns, will move sideways to keep visual ... etc. That's why I said what I said in my first post on here.

and no, I'm not saying only crap, I did say that the game is probably good, such as DS1 was, one of my favorites .. so cant way to try the second version.

also not going to comment on what mouse you bought and how you played Q1 ... you seem younger :D

You critique like your in MLG((major league gaming) link)) gaming or something. Why critique a review of the game on how some one played, I just wanted to show off the game engine and how the multiplyer plays out, If I wanted to go wick wild and now show anything and own everyone I could have. It was my first time even playing the dead space titles. I also had never even used fraps before, cmon show little sensitivity, I spent 10 hours straight setting up fraps to even be able to record after going through a dozen or so other recording softwares. I don't know where you get off from but what ever it is pass some to me cause you sound ridiculous.

Your entitled to your opinion and I like your thoughts but Im telling you I take pride in my ability to game, I dont know if you understand what Im telling you.

I also have plenty of web pages, youtube channel and profiles you can very well look at my infos if you like. :D
