So I kind of want to buy one of these two games but I can't decide which one. I can get Dead Space for $20 because I have someone who works at EA who can buy it for me for that price, but at the same time I really wanna get Fallout 3 as well...

    Recommendations?

Oh btw this is for Xbox 360, not PC :)

fallout 3 will prob get you more playing time out of it...

but really do you like rpg or 3rd person shooters/ scary games more..

id get your friend to get you them both on discount, if he "says" he can't break one finger then ask again

I would ask him for Fallout 3 for discount but its not a EA title so it wouldn't be for sale at the EA store in their studio. :(

Get them both. They're good for different reasons.

Also, the cheap games are considered taxable benefits. It's too bad that not all EA games are $20 now. :(

Rent Dead Space and buy Fallout 3. Seems reasonable enough.

If your friend works at EA can't he just steal...ahem!...I mean 'liberate' a copy of Dead Space for you? Isn't that how they get the leaked versions out onto the internet?

Then spend your chump change on Fallout because there'll be more replayability in that. :)

too open, just felt like I was completely lost, too much focus on "being open" than quality shooting and gameplay.

Rent DeadSpace because I beat it in 4 hours, although I repeated it 4 times. Then, buy Fallout 3.

I've already grown bored of Fallout 3. Is it a good game? Sure. But it feels a hell'va lot like Oblivion, with guns.

    Buy Dead Space.

Lol, see my dilemma? Half the people I ask say Fallout 3, and half say Dead Space. Perhaps I'll rent both and then see which one I feel like playing more.

What sort of stuff do you look for in a game? I'm gonna go with buying... BOTH. I mean, hey, Fallout 3's definitely a great buy for the full price, even, and Dead Space at a mere extra $20... yoinks! That's only about $2 for each hour you'll spend on it. Beats going to the movies, huh?

was gonna ask the same question xD, even if you had the fatman from fallout 3 and starting nuking those mutants, you wont complete the game in 4 hours.

I think I took roughly 12 hours on hard. But I did go through slowly. If you run and gun your way through the game, I suppose 4 hours would be on the edge of possibility : ) (I would only do this in the day with the sound muted haha)

I guess I look for bang for buck in games. So really, both games are good bang for buck; Fallout 3 has tons of replayability, but Dead Space for $20 lol

Dead Space is an amazing game. It's the only game to come out so far which has reminded me (positively) of Bioshock - it's so immersive it's scary (literally) and gruesome as hell. Also, the boss battles are really, really epic. It doesn't last as long as Fallout 3 (lasted me a good 15 hours, though), but it's definitely a must-play.

    I say just buy both.
If you bought Fallout 3 and rented Deadspace, that's pretty stupid.
I mean (depending on where you rent from, talkin blockbuster in this post) it's like 7-9bucks to rent here. For the extra 10+ dollars for a brand new game thats popular right now...who wouldnt just buy both...?

Dead Space isn't a bad game, but it's bad horror.

Fallout 3 feels too much like Oblivion sometimes, but the flipside is that you get to use shotguns, and that makes things much better. ;)

In terms of simple bang for your buck, you're going to get way more mileage out of Fallout 3. Dead Space will be $20 in six months anyhow, if not sooner, but Fallout 3 isn't likely to fall in price.

But if I may make an alternative suggestion, consider picking up Mass Effect if you haven't already. The action is more fun in my opinion than Dead Space, the story is better than either game, and the NPCs don't stand directly in the middle of the uncanny valley and do their best Hayden Christensen impression while delivering their lines like in Fallout 3.

    Go for Fallout 3
