I'd go for Mirrors Edge or Dead Space, didn't think Hawx was that great and is pain without a proper controller.

Which I have. And it's the cheapest of the 3 at 29.99... I played the Dead Space demo on X360 and it felt sluggish but I liked the ambiance. Is it the same on PC?

Between Dead Space and Mirror's Edge (i don't have HAWX) my vote goes to Dead Space, Great game, Great atmosphere, i like it alot... Mirror's Edge isn't bad, it's something different, but WAAAAAY too short... ;)

    Id say Mirrors Edge,

If you like shooting, then Dead Space. HAWX was a disappointment for me, didn't find anything to unique or great in it. But thats just my opinion.

Hawx is fun if you want an action shooter flying game... pretty graphics, and plenty to blow up. And, with the Steam sale, hard to beat.

Dead Space is fun as well, but is a slower paced horror type game. Like posted above, depends on what you're in the mood for. It's a good game as well though.

If I had to choose though I'd pick Hawn out of those, but I'm partial to flying games ;-)

I like HAWX. I'm a flight sim nerd, and I still enjoy it. HAWX is a great change of pace. Fast air combat action. I do highly recommend a gamepad controller however (X360 one FTW)

Both Dead Space and Hawx are great games, have no experience on Mirror Edge though.

Dead Space does have a few issue but it could be overcome without much hassle.

I think the problem with Deadspace are the controls, it just feels very slow and sometimes awkward. The environments are excellent though.

I'd go Mirror's Edge as it's the most original of the 3 and certainly left the best impression on me.

I would also vote for Dead Space.

As for the control issue, you can try to disable V-sync in game and enable it in Nvidia's Control Panel instead. This got rid of all the tearing and mouse lag in my case ;)

I have 2 out of 3 of them.

Mirrors Edge was nice and all but very short with very little replay. Honestly if it was not given to me I would have been upset for buying it.

Dead Space is freaking awesome, it runs better than mirrors edge and still has better graphics too. Its longer, and it does have some replay. Plus those creepy FPS games always hold a place in our hearts (Doom anyone?)

Dead Space is my sons favorite game, he actually begs me to play it just so he can watch. It was worth the purchase for sure.

Hawx, dont have it. Not sure how much I would like it. Def would want a joystick and a good setup to enjoy that game.

Hawx... IMO the story is there just because basically every big title out there has a story. It is not tied to the game play, you can basically ignore every cut scene and jump straight into battle without not knowing what to do.

Nevertheless, I'm enjoying the game myself, the arcade style just suits me very well.

Dead Space on the other hand, is relatively richer in the story. Although the control does feel sluggish, it is not that bad.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Gee, I guess Hawx has a REAAAAAALLY bad story. Dead Space's storyline is pathetic, imo. I have no idea why quite a few reviewers seem to make a big deal of it.

I've already finished HAWX... I started playing at around 10pm and by 8am I was done... Now my impression is that it was either so much fun that I didn't see the time pass or it was awfully short because it left me wanting for more... Are there any custom campaigns for the game?

I would buy two or three of them used!

I buy the majority of my PC games second hand and they usually cost half of the retail price and they have always been in good condition and with a warranty.

Some do say that the used PC games market has a detrimental effect on the new PC gaming / sales though.

Hawx is way too short, Mirror's Edge is BEAUTIFUL but short and I haven't played Dead Space.

I would go for Mirror's Edge.

    1) They're not gonna make the storyline of the game itself any better. I'd certainly hope that they'd be able to fit a reasonable story into 10-20 hours of gameplay.

    2) Seen both, and still... mehhhhhhhhhhhh. Nothing seemed to stand out, know what I mean?

Dead Space FTW. Disclaimer: It is the only one out of the three I have played, and I'm a fan of scary games. Dead Space is actually scary, and remains so throughout the game (as far as I've played so far). FEAR was not scary after getting used to Alma, and the surprises in Doom 3 were predictable after a while. Dead Space does become a little less scary once the plasma cutter is nicely upgraded, but the ammo limitations still keep the edge there.

Dead Space was the first game in years to hook me hard enough that I played it through start to end in a couple of days.

I made the time to play the game when usually I play a game here and there and get bord with it and dont finish it.

heck I just got GTA4 a week ago and already stoped playing it.

just got left 4 dead, and the single player wouldnt have held me over for even a day, but online is decent and something different (co-op vs cpu)

Slightly off-topic but if 1.4 million total sales are anything to go by then Dead Space is worth a look for the curious. Longevity isn't a strength but it's good for 2-3 playthroughs and it remains challenging even if you memorise every encounter.

I got through it 3 times, first two on normal and the 3rd on hard but I found after finishing the 3rd one that a 4th attempt was a bit of a grind so stopped. Your mileage may vary.

Gotta disagree with you on this.

I played the demo of HAWX for a while, and thought it was pretty bleh. I've played Ace Combat games before, I don't wanna pay for the same game again with the Tom Clancy logo on it.

Mirror's Edge is way too short to warrant a purchase, imho.

Dead Space is a great game. I picked it up just a few days ago, and I've been having a lot of fun with it.

Lately, Fear 2 and Dead Space have been taking up a lot of my time.
