ok this is really weird; i played through the game on my 8400GS with no problems, now playing through on my 8800GTS if the graphics settings are set to 'high' game plummets to 1-2 fps right away, if set on medium it runs fine but randomly plunges to 1 fps again

in a room i could be looking at one of the walls and get 50fps, turn 180 degrees and fps falls to 1, turn again boom back to 50fps; i tried messing with the graphics settings, no use; turned off post-processing, bloom, AA, etc. no difference

apart from that FPS in general is very low given what card i have and what settings im running at (1440x900); usually around 25fps with shaders on low and shadows on off and most of the graphics settings turned off

    help

running the latest drivers; no problems in any other game

it should run well with high settings with 8800gts. can you map the core clocks with riva tuner? I have simlar problem as you with my hd3650 not as bad though, cause by my video card downclocking ramdomly (no heat issues) a driver change fixed it

yah it should be on the same page as the temps. just look to see if there are random dips in core clocks

OK the newest NEWEST Nov 10 180.47 drivers fixed it (laptop2go) , BUT now Vsync wont work...at all...even forced in nvidia control panel

fps is great now with everything turned up but the tearing is killing me

setting vsync on in Deadspace control panel still caps FPS at 25 so thats not an option

EDIT: also, id like to say that Deadspace was one of the few games that i feel lived up to it's expectations this year (im only on chapter 4 also); i was quite impressed and its a better successor to SS2 than Bioshock IMO, even though the gameplay is quite simplified obviously

as far as atmosphere and execution goes though, its one of the best ive ever seen, makes Bioshock look like a bad cartoon
