Deadspace and ureal tournament III worth a play?

Hey guys i just ordered these two games im fairly sure about deadspace but wanted a good game to lan with a mate and we decided to go with unreal tournament III, so i know this game as afew years old will i notice it much, and how is the gameplay especially in co-op...ive heard you can add bots to make up numbers...this appeals to me due to not having broadband and only having acouple of mates to lan with.
So whats your experiences with both these games?

Dead Space is good, i've only played it for 5 mins though....

UT III is the nuts!! you will love it.

 

cool, is the single player campaign in UT III any good or is it primarily a multiplayer/co-op game? they both should be here in afew days so im looking forward to them to be honest.

 

It's mainly focused on multiplayer, there is a sort of campaign mode, but its pretty much same as multiplayer, like deathmatch etc...

 

Dead Space was really spectacular if you like survival horror. The team did a whole lot to develop and flesh out the atmosphere, and for me at least playing it through the first time was actually an emotionally taxing experience. If you've already ordered it, I would suggest finding the 'source media', which is a short comic and an animated movie that came out as teasers for the actual game. They aren't incredibly well done, but they give a lot of background that the game doesn't, and definitely worth a read/watch.

 

UT3 is a fun game. If you're an Unreal Tournament fan, you'll like it.

 

Yup UT3 was fun. But more of a fan of Dead Space here.

 

Deadspace is a must play IMO. UT3 was fun, but is mostly focused on multiplayer.

Im in the same boat mate, for the single player campaign deadspace looks very promasing but my mate and i really wanted a fps that had good lan multiplayer with bots and we couldnt find much out there so went with UTIII......

 

for online - UT3,
for single player - Dead Space.

I have both, good games.

Dead space really is a scary game but it's a fantastic experience! The atmosphere really gets to you from the beginning as does the story. The rpg things like upgrading your weapons and buying new suits really add up to the game and made me wanne play a second time.

 

Cool, sounds decent, ive been looking for a decent survival horror game, is it first person or 3rd person view...?.....

 

Over-the-shoulder 2nd person view, but most people get used to it.

I don't find Deadspace scary.
Sure it has those "Oh Shi*!" moments.
What it mostly has is "what the f just happened?!" moments.

One major flaw of the game is the aiming system. It is annoying to aim it is not smooth at all.

But it is a good game over all.

 

I heard that the aiming has to do with the keyboard and mouse being sluggish, im planning on playing this game with my windows 360 controller which apparantly addresses the issues, i find it really hard to play third person shooters with keyboard and mouse.

 

I have played a few LAN games in my dorm on UT3 with quite a few people.... still pretty fun heh.... you should also check out a free mod called "The Haunted"... it is a very well done mod...

I also loved deadspace, probably my fav single player experience in a while now... give em both a go and enjoy

 

I have played many 3rd person shooters. But the amount of suck in the aiming this game takes the cake. And it is horrible because you need to shoot fast in the game.

 

I didn't have too much of an issue playing the game aiming-wise, I did need to adjust mouse sensitivity and a few other settings but otherwise I managed to beat the game a few times. I'm terrible at FPS games to boot so this came as a surprise.

 

Unless my game came rigged or something. Or maybe it needs a patch. But for me it was so extreme that I always play games a 2nd time (if they are worth the time). Especially this game because the new suit and you get the keep the power nodes, etc. But I'm not going to because it is just going to be a huge pain in the as.s, it is that big of a deal for me.

 

Dead Space is a GREAT game

I'm not really into survival horror games so much, but this really sucked me in and I had a (really tense at times ) Blast

I never played any other UT games before UT3, but I really enjoyed it.
The single player mode is basically lots of games / matches connected vis a story which isn't that bad

And its great for a LAN especially as you can add bots as well as people

I played through Dead Space using a controller BTW and had no aiming probs whatsoever

 

thanks guys, mostly you all have given good reasons to play the games so im really quite excited, ive finished off afew games that have been hanging over my head and have some free time coming up so its perfect timing for me really, im really happy to hear people have also enjoyed the lan as well as multiplayer, i will only be playing single player and lan with a couple of mates, so to hear confirmation that you can add bots also pleases me no end...thanks for the input guys.
