I just discovered this forum and have spent a good 30 minutes reading through topics. I have found it very informative and thank all you guys for assembling all this good info. Still, I do have an individual problem that I could use some help on.

I have Everquest 2 downloaded and installed onto my computer.

    Specs:

Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.071009-1548)
    System Manufacturer: Sony Corporation
    System Model: VGN-FE865E
BIOS: Phoenix NoteBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
    Processor: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2060 @ 1.60GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.6GHz
    Memory: 1014MB RAM
Page File: 1079MB used, 1201MB available
    DirectX Version: DirectX 10
    ---------------
    Display Devices
    ---------------
Card name: Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family
    Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
    Chip type: Intel(R) GMA 950
    DAC type: Internal
    Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A2&SUBSYS_81EF104D&REV_03
    Display Memory: 251 MB
    Dedicated Memory: 0 MB
    Shared Memory: 251 MB

When I first ran the game, I had an older version of my Intel Chipset driver, and the game ran, but with unplayable frame rates even at the lowest settings. I then updated to the newest driver, and when I ran the game I receive a fatal error that says
Failed to create d3d device for Intel 945 GM Chipset Family.
The screen also goes black for a few seconds.

Reading through numerous forums has had me check and I know that I:
Have the latest DirectX version and drivers
Updated Intel driver was installed properly
DirectDraw, Direct3D, and AGP Texture Acceleration are all running

If anyone has insight as to how to deal with this problem, and how to perhaps get the framerate a bit higher if the game does work, I'd really appreciate it!

P.S. On a final note, I know it is very possible this game just wont work right with such a crap graphics "card", but I was wondering if anyone knows of good shortcuts to get games working, or a really good MMO (f2p or p2p) that rivals EQ2 but would run alright on my comp.

    Thanks Guys!
