Does the ATI RADEON Xpress 200M have any dedicated memory?

From Chazman's post - there are 2 versions:

    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2757

Another increasingly common integrated GPU is the ATI Radeon Xpress 200M, avaliable in two versions - one with shared memory (does not have any of its own memory), and one with dedicated, which has its own memory, meaning it doesn't have to borrow memory from your main system RAM. The ATI X200M is the best integrated graphics card in terms of performance today, much faster than the Intel GMA900/950. It is mainly found in AMD-based notebooks, although it is starting to make its way into the Intel-based notebooks as well. For comparison purposes, the dedicated X200M is about 2/3 as fast as a standard Mobility Radeon X300. The X200M is actually capable of some light 3D, but remember that it is integrated, and you will be very limited when it comes to games - do not buy it if you want to play games.

Some do, and some don't. Check your laptop specifications for clarification.

I think it's 64mb of dedicated memory. Is that right?

It depends , if your laptop has an option to turn on Shared Memory/HyperMemory on BIOS that means the card is semi-dedicated. Which means it has x MB amount of actual VRAM + it could borrow extra VRAM from the system. I doubt the card could make use of 256MB of VRAM. 64MB should be enough for ATI X200

Is that the same model as mine? Because it doesn't look and sound like it.

It is the same model, but perhaps not the same configuration. The graphics card would be the same.

Oh, I see. So it's the shared version right?

There are many versions of the card. The best one is 128mb dedicated + 128mb shared. All versions can borrow up to 128mb of sytem RAM.

What is hyper memory? And also, since I've got 1GB RAM I should be able to get the most of the shared video memory, right?

Hyper memory is where the graphics card takes the system memory to use for itself. In your case, the card is taking 128mb from your 1gb of system memory to use as it needs. Note that it doesn't take 128mb all the time, it just has 128mb available to it when it is needed (playing games will mean the card takes more memory than when its just idling in windows for example)
