Nothing new, it has the Intel GMA 900 & 950 which totally suck for gaming.

    Look at least for an X1400, X1600, 7400, 7600...

If you poke around a bit, you'll find a few old threads that discuss the GMA 900/950 and its performance.

Generally speaking, many older games should play without too much trouble. Certain more-recent games might play, though performance would more than likely take a big hit. Turning down some of the more intensive settings/resolution may help. Games that would be considered somewhat graphically-intensive are pretty much out.

If you are looking for a notebook to game with, I'd seriously recommend looking for something with dedicated graphics. If gaming is not a concern, you're already stuck with something integrated, or want to run older games/running without the eye candy, then you may have some success with integrated graphics. Just don't expect too much out of it.

Yeah I'm not expecting XPS gaming performance. I didn't buy this as my gaming machine. I have a nice desktop at home for that. I'd just like to be able to play some games once in awhile.

I tried LOTR: BFME 1 and it seemed to work fine with the graphics turned down.

turning AA, shadows, and dynamic lighting; as well as lowering the res to 800x600 and low settings would let you play some games but as far as newer games dont even bother. Unless you like rts games your pretty well stuck.

I was surprised an older game like Simcity 4 ran a little slow.

Although, Civ3 in widescreen mode looks great! :)

I have Civ4 working fine using the latest patch. On Intel's site it says it's unplayable but I think it plays just fine. I have it set to 1024x768 though. If I set it to full widescreen support it slows down.
