I just found this awesome post about the external video. Everyone is talking about installing this on OS XP or 7. Will it work with Vista, I know I hate it too? Here is my older setup that I run for some games on, the only thing I have at atm. Do you think I could make this work or should I chuck it, kinda short on cash to buy a new computer at the moment but I want better video.
Dell 1720 Laptop
Intel 2 [email protected] ghz
4Gb memory
32-bit OS –Vista
Nvidia gforce 8400M gs 128mb
I do have what used to be called is a PCMCIA slot, probably called something diff now.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Vista can work with only 1 video driver or something like that. You need to have a driver for 8400M and another driver for the external video card at the same time. And that won't work on vista unless both cards use the same driver . I don't know if vista will catch up with 2 drivers for different generations nvidia cards. With windows 7 you can combine mobile/external ati/nvidia/intel however you like.
You could disable 8400M completely and use the windows XP driver (yes, you read that right) for the external video card, but then you'll only have directx 9.
The slot is called Expresscard.
