    The Radeon X300 is a pretty low end card for 3D applications. . have you already bought the notebook? I would go for something a little faster.

    Check out the Compaq V4000t with the 128MB X700. It will be under $1,000 with a Pentium M and X700, and from the looks of your configuration, your budget seems to be fairly high. I'm sure you could get a nicely spec'd out V4000t for that. ;)

    The X700 is about 3-3.5x faster than the X300.
