if I were you i'd upgrade to the t5200 at least, since it's a 64 bit processor. and it's 10% faster than it's 32 bit counterpart, so i'd say it's just as fast as your t2250, despite the 17.3ghz vs 1.60ghz difference. If you can afford it you should try to upgrade to the t7200, but the t5200 is pretty solid as well.

but to answer your original question, yes that's a good laptop for gaming, especially since you didn't get the higher resolution screen

The Go7900GS in the 9400 makes it a good gaming laptop, you can definitely play demanding games out in the market right now, of course it still can't match more powerful GPUs like the GTX models. I would up the CPU to a C2D 2Ghz, and the ram to 2GB, then you are good to go!

The upgrade to 2GB of RAM was only $100, I'd go for that.

As posted, a CPU upgrade is a good idea, since the Go7900GS is powerful enough to take advantage of a faster CPU. Go for a T5600, or if your budget permits, the T7200.

I just bought this laptop and its amazing, i configured it with the T7200 2ghz core 2 duo and 2gb of ram and its perfect. I can play all the latest games at max settings and with no problems. I definately recommend buying this laptop.

you know you could drop down the battery or hdd size to get that processor

in my opinion it would be worth it to drop one of those to get a 64 bit processor which will be good for future programs

Yes, I completely agree with Rickster. An HD or battery is much cheaper and easier to upgrade later than a processor. I would go with the 64 bit as well.

Is this notebook from the Dell Outlet? If so, then just wait, the variety of models in there changes daily.
