    Hello,

I was just wondering if I would be able to run Oblivion with a decent framerate/graphics with my current specs:

    Dell Inspiron 6400
    1 Gb SDRAM
    T2400 1.83 GHz Duo Core
    256 Mb ATI Radeon X1400

They exceed the apparent 'minimum' requirements for the game, but I've heard that Oblivion's 'actual' specs are much higher, if you want a decent level of playability. I'm able to run Gothic 3 on medium settings with these specs, if that's any help.

Sorry if this question has been asked before...Thanks,

The X1400 is a mid-level GPU that should be able to run Oblivion at medium settings.

You will be able to get decent frame rates if you turn most of the settings down. More memory would help.

You will probably want to check out this thread. The 7400 is similar enough to the X1400, and I think the X1400 is slightly more powerful.

2GB of RAM would help a little bit.

1280x800, medium settings, turn any water related settings down.

    Indoors: 30fps
    Outdoors: 25fps.

Thanks! Yeah, I splurged and got Oblivion today... It seems to run fine with medium settings. It runs awesome at max settings when I'm at lower resolutions, but of course, it's not nearly as crisp. Thank God for DVD's instead of CD's!

read the sticky at the top first, theres an x1400 screenshot thread you should look at, oblivion + settings + fps is in there.
