I'm looking to pick up a cheap refurbished netbook for gaming when on trips. I'll only really be looking to play Roguelikes, so I don't need anything powerful, and I definitely want something small. So I've been looking at the Dell Latitude D430. It gets good reviews on most websites (including this one), but obviously scores poorly on the graphics front because it's integrated graphics. But I know that Roguelikes aren't exactly graphically demanding, so I'm hopeful it should be fine. And then on this website's review, I saw this:
Dell Latitude D430 User Review
"With a score of 348, it is obvious that the D430 will not be playing the latest games. Sure, it will play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Final Fantasy VII & VIII, the original Neverwinter Nights, and maybe even the original Halo game. But anything that is not at least a few years old is going to choke this card. Halo is pushing it, as at the lowest settings it is barely playable, so I think I'll stick to Solitaire thank you very much."
That really surprised me, because I didn't expect that it would play the likes of GTA Vice City. So do people think I would ok buying the D430 for Roguelikes? I'd like to go for that one, because it has a ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) processor, which sounds like it would help the battery to last, and it's so small and light. And all of the other similar ones in the range have integrated graphics too, apart from the D810, which has dedicated graphics, and looks way more powerful, but that's really big and bulky and heavy by comparison.
Dell Latitude D430 for Roguelike gaming?
