Hey folks. Bought a Vostro 1500 several months ago and haven't had very good performance with it. It does fine until I want to run a game demo or something. I decided to run 3DMark06 just to see what it would score and it was highly disappointing. I scored less than 3,300 points. Maxed the very first test at 20fps with an average of what i'd say to be 15fps. The rest was downhill from there and I got 0-1 fps on one test. I think it should do better, here's the specs.

    Vostro 1500
    Windows XP SP2
    Intel core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.20GHz
    2GB of RAM
    nVidia 8600M GT

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
(Also, the tests were run on a fresh install with all unnecessary background programs stopped.)

3300 is the average for the DDR2 8600m GT. The 0 FPS test is the CPU render.

At what resolution are you running the test?

Mine scores right around 3,300 stock, OC'd I was able to get 4,340 out of it, but it ran hotter than I liked. My stable overclock gets 4,200.

At what resolution did you run the test? If it's at 1280x1024, then that score is just about right. If it's at 1280x800, however, that's a bit lower than it should be.

Also, try lower settings/resolution when running games. What games are you playing, anyway?

Hey folks, thanks for the replies! The tests ran at 1280x1024. I tried a couple demos when I first got the laptop. One was the NFS ProStreet, and the other was World in Conflict. The NFS demo I wasn't pleased with because it looked horrible in comparison to my Xbox 360 version. World in Conflict I didn't even play because it, too, looked bad. I'm really not sure what games I CAN play and have look decent...
