It wouldn't be quite so bad without that huge poster...

Gotta love in game advertising. :)

Actually, I don't mind it. First off, it provides the game makers with money so that they can make a better game and charge you less for it. And secondly, it can add to the realism of the game. Though sometimes it can detract and seem stupid. I'm sure every business uses an XPS M1710 that gives you tons of GPU power and 2 hours of battery.

But they don't charge less for it. Screw them. If they want ads in the game, give me the game free or very cheap. FEAR: Extraction Point is still $30, and you need to buy the full version of the game on top of that, which is $40. So I'd pay $70 to see advertising for something that in the OP's case I'd already have? No thanks. Let them give me a REAL discount for watching the ads, and I'll consider it.

Think i saw a few laptops in the game with Alienware on the screen. I thought it was funny personally.

Oh yeah, every single laptop in the original game has the Alienware logo on the screen.

@Pitabred: How do you know that they aren't offering you the game for a discount? F.E.A.R. is a highly detailed game in nearly all respects (sound could be better), and I doubt you know how much they spent making the game. To make the same profit they are now without putting ads in the game, they may have had to charge $50 for the game. I don't know about you, but I'd much rather see an ad for an XPS and pay $30.

As long as the advertising isn't ridiculously conspicuous to the point where it seems tacky, I'd rather save money.
