I know that the XPS 1530 is a better deal for gaming. However, lets say I had to stick to a 1330.

Taken from the Dell Hong Kong online site, i was wondering which of these 2 options would give me a better overall gaming performance (lets say a better 3dmark score)

    Base unit:
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T8100
    2.1GHz/800 FSB/3MB Cache

    2GB (2x1024) 667MHz dual-channel DDR2 SDRAM Memory.

If i were to upgrade ONE of them, i could either choose:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T9300

    OR

4GB of the above mentioned ram.

Which of these upgrades would result in best gaming performance?

The price shows that upgrading the processor is more expensive, so i would assume that yields better gaming performance?

    Thanks all

EDIT: I forgot to add that the system comes with a GeForce 8400m GS with 128mb dedicated memory

Upgrade the Processor... Memories upgrade only affect load times, but not performance in games (by performance i mean FPS, smoothness...)

Go with the LEAST ram possible. It is FAR cheaper to upgrade yourself later.

I'll echo. I bought 4 GB from Newegg for $70. With Dell even if the lowest advertised RAM is say 2 GB you can often call up after the order and have them modify it to a lower amount of RAM to save yourself money, this sometimes works with warranty also.

Not even close. Upgrade your RAM from 1G to 2G, and tell me you don't notice a difference in framerate. In fact, I remember years ago upgrading from 512m to 1G, and it was insane. It doesn't just effect your load times. And if it does, my eyes/Fraps are getting "load times" mixed up with "frame-rates".

If this was true, we would still just game with 512m of RAM, and wait out the load times.
