Hello,
I recently purchased a dell xps l702 laptop- specs are i5-2430, 4 gb ram, Nvidia gt-550m video.
I downloaded supreme commander on steam and am having some frustrations with it. Whenever I click on the game it just acts as if loading, then stops. Weird thing is, the first time I played it, the game worked fine. It also worked fine once last night after toying configurations for 2 hours. I do not think the 550-m is underpowered, since it ran the game flawlessly last night.
It almost seems as if my gpu isnt initializing the game, or as if the Intel graphics are somehow default? I've added supreme commander to the nvidia processor so it should be recognizing it. Ive also downloaded a bunch of drivers and none seem to work. The couple times it did work, it showed it as the nvidia was initializing in the lower right display. When it won't load it's not showing this.
Ive google searched my heart out, someone please help!
-
right click run with high performance nvidia processor, or whitelist the game from nvidia control panel

I did the right click thing, and the the nvidia high performance processor is default. The issue is still there. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the game as well. I tried opening red alert 3 and the screen just turns black as it tries to load, so its not just the one game. Any other suggestions?
