For those of you that like 'old school' RPG's, I highly recommend this game. The English demo is 500 mb.

It is a turn-based, party-based game in the mold of NWN and Baldurs Gate from a German developer. Nice graphics, great music, and good voice acting. The camera controls and UI are a little different and hard to get used to, but manageable. Played a couple of hours now, and I think this is going to be one of those sleeper hits for this genre. The full English version is due for release in Feb 2009. Cheers.

Thanks for the tip! I love the old style RPG's. (Like the old Might and Magick series, DS, NWN, etc.) I'll check this out.

    P.S.

Playing these on The Dragon, are ya? ;)

(Since you like "old school" - check our gog.com - great place to buy cheap "great old games" of all types. Also, if you ever see a game called "SoulBringer" check it out, you'll probably like it. I loved it. Still available on eBay and elsewhere, I think.)

Thanks for posting. I'm a RPG guy myself though I play almost anything that fancies my taste.

Remember how Gothic when it first came out was created by a [small] German developing team? This may be the next big thing.

By the way has somebody already downloaded the demo and played it  [IMG]

Yes, I have, and thoroughly enjoyed it. As I said above, camera and movement is not very intuitive ,but the game certainly left me wanting more and eagerly awaiting official U.S. release. I guess if you can speak or read German, that version is out now.

Honestly, it look really good. I enjoy throwback games, but it doesn't fell like a throwback at all. The graphics are pretty good actually. Since I just finished NWN2, I'm enjoying this demo at just the right time. Thank you hovercraftdriver!

No problem :) ...I am always on the watch for stuff like this.

I am really waiting for Dragon Age: Origins, from Bioware as well.
There is a new video and interview from Gamespot about DA:O just posted yesterday.

Playing the full game of this now, and really enjoying it, however it stutters every 3 seconds. Temps are below 70c under load for my GPU. The only and I mean only way to eradicate the issue is to turn the game down to low details. I can run as much AA/Res/Shadow/Lighting as possible. This happens even in quiet spots without any AI activity.

In a way I don't mind just playing through it like I am, low detail setting but max everything else, as I actually prefer the look of the game without all of the grass (which can obscure a few items).

I'm guessing it's a weird driver bug, I'm using the latest Official Nvidia laptop ones at the moment and have had no problems playing things like Bioshock at maximum (DX10). Tempted to upgrade to the latest ones on Laptopvideo2go but am reticent as everything works great otherwise. Any ideas?

If not, anyone else playing this?

    /Fixed

Downloaded D3D Overider and enabled Triple Buffering + Vsync. Game now runs smooth at full settings + as a bonus it doesn't run as hot (fan doesn't go up to max like it used to). Result!

nope - i tried the german demo as i was keen to get a look at it but my graphics card failed so now i cant play any pc games at all. Soon as i get a replacement graphics card might give this a go as i was impressed by the demo :)

glad to see that its running on your lappy with no hitches though
