I am probably going to buy a DELL E1505 in the next month or so and the highest option for a GPU is a 256mb MR x1400 with HyperMemory. I currently have a 128mb FX 5200 in my desktop computer and would like something as good or better than it. How do the two compare?

well, i'll start you off, the FX 5200 was a not so great card, I advised my friends to stay away from it when it was released.

Anyways what you can do it runa benchmark on it, 3dmark05,

THe X1400 can achieve around 2000 3dmark05. So if the FX5200 get 1000 marks, then you know the X1400 is roughly double the power.

I am pretty sure the X1400 will pwn the Fx5200, but running the benchmark will show you by how much.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

the FX line of cards are considered to be "garbage". the x1400, will most likely be better. benchmarks are "somewhat" reliable when comparing cards. *BUT* even if a card has a higher 3dMark0x score, does NOT mean it will perform better in games.

    pb,out.

The FX 5200 is much outdated and is a very slow card for even last generation games. The X1400 is far more powerful even though it is only a midrange card itself.

X1400 beats the FX5200 for sure! The X1400 is 128 bits, FX5200 64 bits (even for a desktop card!)
