It's finally out, the reviews are glowing, and it seems to be a worthy successor to one of the finest PC games of all time.
For those of us that were praying for anything but "Invisible War Part Deux", it looks like they delivered.
Anyone pick it up yet? I'm grabbing it as soon as I get home.

I have it.
it (so far) works well on my computer (450/800 clocked 5650 mobility at 1600x900 with an i5-520m)
I have DX11 on, SSAO off, vsyinc off, AA off, shadows and Depth of Field at normal, and AF at 16x.
runs pretty well on 11.8 catalyst drivers -
Its preloaded, so im unlocking it this friday.
My HD 6970m's gonna nomnom it. -
I'm waiting for a Platinum or a GOTY edition before I buy. Next summer or Christmas I imagine.
-
Just waiting on mine to unlock. sigh.
-
Glad someone finally created a thread on this. I preloaded the game last night on steam and played the first level very briefly before heading off to work.
I'm running a 1st Gen Asus G53JW. I can either run the game at 1080P with Tesselation / AA / SSAO / off at around ~20 frames OR run with everything on at 720P and around ~40 - 60 FPS. I can't be more specific as I didn't have time to run a benchmark, or find the settings to show the exact framerate.
Overall the game atmosphere is amazing. A small touch of consolitis on the controls - Crouch is a toggle by default, which I find annoying. Also the chat menu uses a Up, Down, Left, Right Response guide similar to a Mass effect chat wheel except you need to press an Arrow Key (WASD) to select your choice and then confirm it by pressing the 'enter' key. This game was definitely designed for a Controller first. A little clunky, but overall a small nitpick on an otherwise impressive game. -
5870M here is running with everything turned on, even some soft AA and getting 40fps.
-
Does anyone know the length of the game?
-
And so far this game is making me feel nauseous. Some games do that to me not sure what it is. Half-Life 1 did that to me for some reason. I think it's Field of View and the movement. Hopefully we can bump up the field of view a bit.
-
Yeah, it's normally the field of view that causes motion sickness for some people in games. That's the benefit of developers like Valve that give you the ability to adjust it, but some devs want it for a certain "feel".
I picked up my copy on lunch and will be ready to go when I get home. Got the Augmented edition so I'll have something to browse while it installs (like in the good ol days). I've got the CE of the strategy guide comming tomorrow and it's supposed to have a large art section in it.
Got a short day tomorrow and then just Thursday and rest of the week off. Time to put my friends multiple playthoughs of Mass Effect to shame. -
I've felt that "motion sickness" before, my remedy was to push the monitor back to increase the distance between me and the monitor.
-
Nevermind, you can change FOV up to 100 degrees in gameplay options! MUCH better. Whew. I was thinking I wouldn't be able to play this game for a moment. Damn.
I still have to sit back a little bit more. I'm playing on my desktop with 24" 1920x1200 monitor. Maybe I'd be better off playing it on my laptop! -
i thought i was the only one who felt the nausea from time to time... lol. misery loves company.
-
I get really hot and sweaty and then feel queasy. It really sucks especially when it's a game you want to play.
-
-
-
Just a heads up, Amazon is selling it for 39.99 digital download, bought it and activated it on Steam
-
-
Yes it is Steamworks. I got mine from Green Man Gaming as a pre-order for like $29 I think.
-
Got it yesterday, living on Guam has some advantages (we are 12/13 hours ahead of EST, but sucks on Steam because they label us as a foreign country so if I don't buy a physical copy from Gamestop I have to wait until the game releases in mainland USA or even later). I like the feel of the game, reminiscent of the first game. Graphics aren't anything to write home about, but they work for me. If you were a fan of the original, I think you will like Human Revolution.
-
^^^^^^^^^
That's my feeling so far. It's not a run and gun shooter. It's an RPG, kinda sorta. Just take your time and have fun with it! -

This game reminds me of Alpha Protocol in gameplay: Lots of camping, patiently waiting, until you can find a spot of attack on the enemy without detection. Also the boss battles are a pain if you aren't prepared, just like the boss battles in AP.
However its execution is great, unlike Alpha Protocol, which tried really hard but didn't really work out... -
Some of the stealth situations are just merciless. The police station took me two freaking hours.
This game is fun as hell though. Just don't expect to shoot through every situation. I lol'd when I started the first mission with an assault rifle with 20 bullets in it. I think I wasted half of them by twitching when I was trying to stay stealthy.
I also think the art is brilliant. The Neo-Renaissance theme is pretty awesome. -
20 bullets? Were you on hardest difficulty? I don't recall having only 20 bullets.
-
-
Is anyone getting the strategy guide for this one? I had the CE on order from Amazon and now they suddenly realized they might not get them (uh, why take the orders?!?!?) and I'm trying to find an alternative but most places seem to be sold out.
Anyone have any lucking finding a copy or a report on the extras, etc? -
I'm loving this game, and I haven't shot anything other than tranquilizer darts.
I usually hate playing stealth but this is fun
Everything maxed out too. -
As I get further this game gets better
I'm getting my stealth action groove back. Dragging unconscious dudes into vents and whatnot. BTW, the fact that if guards find unconscious allies, they will revive them, is pretty neat. -
Love this awesome video...

Only exception is 2 or 3 games a year that I was looking forward to for a long time and plan to play for a long time.
This years case is SC2 and GW2. A game I will play and beat one time is much harder to spend that kind of money on. Esp when I have other games to play & beat first. -
Would you play it if you owned it though?

You are Adam Jensen, a super savvy hacker / stealth / non combat agumented person.
I LOVE this game, its soo worth the 45 euro preorder.
Props to Edios Montreal for making their first game so good.
Totally worth the Deus Ex title. -
I purchased it yesterday, but I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy...
Guess what, I'M LOVING IT! Runs perfectly near-maxed at 1080p! This game will be easily enjoyed by BF fans like me. Total must buy.
It's WAY more badbutt than the mute Alcatraz
DX : HR >>>>>>>> Crysis 2 in badbuttery. Nuff said -
Excited to try it... just snagged a digital copy off Amazon for $34 (Thanks for the heads up!), got my key instantly and downloading on Steam right right now... should be ready to play soon.
Loved the first one, still play it occasionally. -
Bought it yesterday...its awesome...apart from some problems:
1. DX11 is very unstable, and often crashes
2. The graphics of the NPCs are so-so, some are pretty good, and can be compared to ME2 or Alpha Protocol, others look pretty bad and move like marionettes -
Only 2hrs in but having an absolute blast! Time will tell if it measures up to the first game but so far it has a great feel to it... the art direction and general world style is so immersive. Enivronments are perhaps not as large and open as the first game but seem just as free-form, can't wait to explore the open city areas!
My only real concern was how sluggish it seemed to be running on my system (spec below). Quickly discovered that Power Saver mode was still enabled though and after switching back to Balanced I'm playing at 1600x900 at a solid framerate, high AA, Tessellation and Post-Processing enabled, everything looks gorgeous.
From what I've read it only gets better too. Front runner for GOTY IMO -

EDIT: For some reason the links all go to the regular PC boxed version... just click the PC Download tab on the options and it corrects... odd -
All of you talking about it and the $25 amazon gift card I got from my sister-in-law for my birthday have pushed me over. Can't beat $10 out of pocket for a new game. I look forward to playing it.
-
Wont give me any notable fps boost running in Dx9 either.
I really hope we get a new game in this series with the same quality as this one.
Its superb. -

Sidenote, 14h into the game, and am in the 2nd boss! So FUN! -
Completed it. ;3
I wont spoil the ending so im not even gonna make a spoiler tag.
I did it in around 21h with medium difficulty, but i did leave at least 2 sidequests.
Might do a completion run just because of the sheer awesomeness! -

Playing it right now. Great game, but a few annoying things here and there. Like for example, the melee kills are useless when being stealthy, because if there is a single enemy in the room that's not completely deaf, he will always hear the death scream from his buddy.
