I'm not doing a review, that's not my job, someone already called dibs on that. Here are some screenshots of Devil May Cry 4 on PC. Some are on DX9 some are on DX10. The game runs very smoothly on my 8600MGT with everything max and AA off. DX9 has 5 more frames than DX10 on average. Check them out...

I only get triple digits
lol.
Most of those Screens from the cut scenes, but I may go ahead and load up the game and take a few. -
Nice screenies, can anyone tell me how to take Vids with other software than Fraps and be done with it?..

DX10 has an improved blur effect just like Lost planet, which cant be seen by screenshots, thats just my guess.

It also has a improved minus 30fps on my system
The blur effect is definitly enhanced. From what I can tell reflections seem better, and some of the lighting and minor details like the weather. Id play DX9 on my laptop for sure, as I tried last night I get about 30fps with all high and 1280x800 or something like that. I tried to play with my wiimote but the game would not read it even tho it works in my windows control panel. So I really didnt play it much.
At home I spent time tweaking my computer, or playing other games mostly, so guess I gotta pack up the 360 controller to take to work tonight.
BTW click my screens for full size. -

My fps at this point I think is limited by my cpu actually.
quoted from our other DMC thread:
-
ATI owns with this game, since it uses Shader Processors more, SLI 8800GTXs cant even touch ViciousXUSMC Performance in DX10 with this one, i recall them getting way less FPS.
-
-
i'm looking for 8-10 minuites clip with minimal FPS loss.
-
Very nice, should be picking up this game soon... just two questions:
Is that the DDR3 8600m GT?
How are the keyboard controls? -
-

Since the game was supposed to be a console game, there's no mouse support. So the keyboard takes a while to get used to. But once you get used to it, it shouldn't be too bad. In short, ASDW and JKLI are the only 8 buttons you'll be using (along with Esc and maybe Enter). The four arrow keys are for changing camera angle. It's always hard to move your right hand from JKLI to the arrow keys, but luckily, you don't need to change the camera too often. -

DDR2 8600GT on my c90s and I get about the same framerates. Its playable.
I would get a xbox 360 controller ther to play.
As far as recording, I dunno if it works or not but I just downloaded xfire the other day and noticed it has a beta stage video recorder in it, so you can check that out. -
So what's this game? Fight game? RPG?
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Its a hybrid, fight game & rpg of sorts.
tho much less rpg, more of a platformer/fighter.
Youtube is always there for you -
I guess I'll pick this up... I'll post the difference with the DDR3 version of the 8600 when I get it.
-
I have the PS3 version, it seems the blemishes of the skin are too paled-out in those screenshots; compared to my PS3 experience. Is it just the video-settings used?
I thought a 8600 would be better than a console video card. -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
devil may cry is not an RPG at all.
totally stylistic fighting game -
Agreed, but i think what the dude meant was the puzzles and stuff in it.
-
-
Comon guys, the PS3 has a 7800GTX Modified. Show some respect!
-
Just un-installed my buddies game, absolutely gorgeous but no way am I into combo moves and such. The set up has options for keyboard or game pad. A game pad highly recommended for this game.
The video tests were hitting 130 to 60 FPS with default settings. If this thing was a true RPG it would be a stunner! -
Wow this game looks really good and your getting some decent FPS with a 8600M GT, think i might get it now.
-
Are the Japanese insane? This game was awful. I 'played' for 30 minutes, 25 of which were spent watching cheesy cutscenes while waiting for the action to finally begin. Do I really need to see ten more aerial swordfighting sequences before I can get to killing something myself? Please. If I'd wanted to watch a ****ty anime movie, I'd have rented one.
-

Its called the start button, it skips cutscenes.
I for one liked them, they add depth to the game.
But hey I like anime movies too so maybe thats why. -
hey guys, finally I installed this game on my dell xps 1530.
I got around 25 to 30 fps. Very statisfy -

i dont think the Cell CPU is the thing doing it, its just Console games are more optimized. if it was about Cell CPU, then the new toshiba with Cell CPU should bury PS3 with its 9700GTS right?...

On another note... This game has a VERY HIGH replay value. Even though it doesn't have multiplayer, there are so many things in single player that you can unlock: abilities, combos, new attacks, even different characters. Definitely worth playing through 3-4 times. -
i'm through it on DMD now. hard as hell.. but its fun fighting Credo!
-
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
I played Human first since I never played any DMC games before. I haven't played too many action games like this either other than Fable. Now I'm on Devil Hunter, about 2/3 through. I tried LDK before I started Devil Hunter, it was impossible to beat Dante in the first "mission"
-
hehe wait till you play him on DMD... he is an OMG
-
AmazingGracePlayer Notebook Deity
DMD is harder than LDK?
(I can just imagine, Devil Hunter is frustrating enough) -
well DMD if you get a couple of hits then you are mostly doomed, while LDK fills the Screen with Enemies but doing the right moves you can just Erase them, so LDK is hard in a fun way, while DMD is hard in a frustrating way.

Hahahaha, I see... Another question, sometimes when I play the game, it just crashes to desktop for no reason... Do you have this issue as well?
-
i'm not sure.. the game hadnt crashed on me once.
