Ah the days of D2.... can not wait until D3 gets here. D3 characters are just absolutely sick (Monk and Wizard!!)

I don't understand why they are patching such and old game, they should put their efforts towards D3...

Wow, they totally nerfed hammerdins: "Blessed Hammer - No longer ignores resistances of undead and demons". Bahaha good thing I never made one.

Why not? The great benefit of a hammerdin is to neglect resitances. Yes, it's only applied to Undead and Demons, but Hammerdins can no longer run bosses (all bosses are Demons).

I've had a look at the patch changes and for the single player it seems the game has been made A LOT EASIER compared to previous versions with a few unbalanced enemies getting their bugged high damages fixed. The only builds I can see which are less effective are the hammerdin as mentioned above and lightning-based sorceresses.

Because Blizzard have a VERY large player base (Seriously have you seen how many people still play Diablo2 on battle.net...it's a lot), one hell of a lot of resources thanks to previous success and now WoW, and also releasing this patch will draw some people back to Diablo 2, and thus indirectly also increasing interest in Diablo 3.

I thought the great benefit of a hammerdin is the bug with concentration giving it insanely high damage *_*

On a side note, if this truly reduces the number of hacks going around and a ladder reset is put in place soon it will be awesome. Im actually quite excited.

So when does ladder reset take place?

Is it worth to play D2 again with the changes given by this new patch?

The only worthwhile thing in this patch is the ability to respec stats/skill points. It was announced in april and it got here in december, not even the entire patch, just a beta realm. They didnt address the numerous bug issues in the game, and also the removal of hacks and desynch. I was in the same position as you too, i quit d2 2 years ago and after i heard about this patch i thought i would get back into it after its release, but as you can see, it is a huge failure content wise.

ah shame, D2 was a really good game, too bad they didn't add more new things, but then again Blizzard still does good job, by even bothering to patch a 10 yr old game.
