Diablo 3 "Announced!"

I am beta'ing what is thought to be Diablo 3 right now.... called Mythos.

Same guys that did Diablo, feels like Diablo, plays like Diablo.... much nicer looking since its using the Hellgate London engine.

Its going to be out Q3 2008.... 100% free play.

Also, another good 100% free to pay game that I am also testing is Battlefield Heroes.

These US backed "Free 2 Play" games are going to give the Korean nProtect crap a run for their virtual money.

you have a better chance to get into the BFH beta ATM.... Mythos might email more people that signed up when they expand servers and would like to do stress tests.

 

I'll wait for the official Blizzard announcement, Mythos should be a good way to wait though.

he said that its thought to be diablo 3. its apparently not diablo 3. blizzard has yet to officialy announce it and also diablo 3 will definitely have better graphics and not use a old crappy engine like hellgate london's. even starcraft 2 has a better looking engine.

 

Yup, there are new "Free 2 Play" games coming out from the USA... which is about freakin time.

Mythos will be announced and debuted at Nvidia's NVISION this late summer in San Jose, CA.

Its been it testing for quite some time now.

 

Gophn any word on BF Heroes realease? I tried for the beta with no luck and all I keep hearing is summer, summer but nothing concrete.

 

Its not going to be a summer release from what I see.

There are a number of key things that still needs to be implemented.... like purchasing abilities and GUI improvements.

The Tutorial for the game was just implemented... LOL.

... before then, we had to figure it out on our own... getting pwned left and right.

 

Mythos and Diablo 3 are not the same game.

Mythos is an MMO by Flagship Studios (who made Hellgate: London).

Diablo 3 is (we don't know) by Blizzard.

 

As long as it doesn't crash like Hellgate.

I probably have some Mythos invites, i recall having them when i last looked, however i can no longer seem to find exactly where they list them on the Mythos site... Thought it used to be right there on the first page. Odd.

I would like a mythos beta too if someone can offer up...however, I have seen mythos, a friend is in beta...DO NOT confuse it with any Diablo game, past, present, or future. It is soo not "dark" and "evil" enough. Hack and slash it may be, but not, for lack of a better term, "Diabloish". It does look like a fantastic game from the 20 or so minutes I watched my buddy play though. BTW, it isn't made by Blizzard, and Bliz owns the Diablo franchise.

 

You're saying as if they did not come up with these titles. DO you know how many peeps are waiting for SC2??? South Korea is still playing the game to this day. But something new is always nice too.

 

I meant as for an actual new game, not sequels/titles.

This thread doesn't have much to do with the new splash screen, which I whole heartedly believed was a Wrath of the Lich King reference.

 

They will make something completely original when ALL of their successful franchises are milked to the bone and they have trouble keeping their finances afloat.

So just keep wishing for Blizzard to go bankrupt in the near future and you might get your wish.

 

Sorry this might be a little off topic but what are the specs required for mythos? Are they just the same as Hellgate London? I hope it's Diablo 3 guess we just have to wait for saturday.

Dude, I read about Mythos before, and I thought it was going to be something wishy-washy, another stupid F2PMMO. Seeing footage of it on the site changed my mind. Free!?

Diablo...suspense??? Did Diablo even have a storyline?

Look, if people want a Diablo 3 so bad all they have to do is create a character in WoW and go hang out in Duskwood for 70 levels.

 

I certainly am! Mixed with the trepidation at how much MORE the rest of my life will suffer from having yet another addictive-like-nothing-else game enter my life.

I just hope it's got nothing to do with MMO.

 

Another reason to keep my computer instead of getting a cheap on that only has A 3100 card... =]

Anybody thoughd of the fact diablo 3 might be a mmorpg to replace WoW. WoW is getting old and they will probably replace it in 2-3 years by something new. Knowing how fast Blizzard works and how long it takes before they actually release a announced game that fits perfectly does it.

 

Wow (literally - not relative to "WoW"), not even close. This feels like an insult.

Diablo II had a linear storyline which developed in the embryo of the Catacombs in Diablo I. Diablo II was not originated around (nor played for) suspense. It was the action, the dynamics, the playability (and re-playability for that matter) that made Diablo II a legend that it is today - nothing even CLOSE to what WoW can compare to - or ever compete with.

Comparing Duskwood to Diablo is like comparing a skateboard to a Murciélago. The only similarities between the two is that they can both go forwards and backwards.

Why do people keep comparing Diablo and Wow. They are different genres of games. Even if they were very similar, they are both by a company we love so who cares if one does better then the other. Just get the game you want and let others play the game they want to. Tired of this "wow killer" business.

 

Yea.. I dun really mind.. Let Bllizzard concentrate on D3 for at least 4 years. You won't get any title release between that time. This will really piss some WoW fans off...

WoW got it's time, now it's time for SC2 and D3.

Or Blizzard should just totally split WoW into another development team. They've got the budget, why can't they just do it.

 

money doesn't magically create quality development teams. if it were that simple then EA would've done it long time ago.

 

I have only played D2 for a little bit, but I am kind of excite for D3. SC2, now that, I can't wait for...

Diablo was much better, but it is a personal opinion. I can`t stand Wow , it`s so pointless to have a game that you can play on and on and never move on to anything.
Even with Diablo, got sick of the regular one, and played 50 some mods.
I want D3 because there's room for so much more stuff.

 

I don't play Wow at all. I'm not a fan. Just saying, why would people want wow "to die". Like it gives them pleasure hoping a game millions of people play fail.

 

I'm not hoping it to die, I'm hoping Blizzard give more attention to their other games, although WoW is really their cash cow.

But I'm totally fine with what blizzard does now as long as they give me SC2 and Diablo ON TIME and not some rushed job as well.

 

Sorry luna that wasn't directed towards you at all, neither was the first. Got my threads confused, there was a person in the other diablo thread who wow killer or such. If diablo 3 rocks (praying/believing) it will sell well, and that shouldn't have anything to do with with wow or how well wow sells.

As for you luna. Yeah blizzard is a big company and I'm sure they have their assigned teams to each game who are working hard. Like I said Blizzard is definitely quality over quantity, sort of like Valve. Their games may be delayed and not come out as soon as we like, but in the end its definitely worth the wait.

 

I really hope this will replace wow for me. I thought WAR/AoC would but I couldnt get past the website for WAR and AoC bored me to no end. Go Go bliz!

 

I'm glad I quite WoW while I did; it was starting to effect my grades. Hopefully the same doesn't happen when I start playing SC2/D3.

 

This new game looks too much like warcraft and not so much like diablo.

They should have made the colors darker.

While it is not going to stop me from buying the game I am still pretty disappointed at the developers decision to make the third game in the series much more "cartoony" in it's colors.

 

Yeah, I have noticed the same thing as well. Even the animation shown in the teaser is cartoonny; espcially Cain.

i'm so pysched about diablo 3 i went out and bought the diablo 2 battlechest yesterday. i never actually owned the game, i just borrowed my friends, but i lost the copy >.< now i own it though, so it's alright
