I know it's purely based on speculation, but do you think a 540m GT will handle Diablo 3 atleast with mid-settings?
    Paired with a i5 2410.
Everything I've seen it doesn't look THAT demanding, when compared to a full scale assault in SC2.
And the 540m GT performs quite well with SC2, or am I thinking of something else.

    It will definitely handle D3.

Blizzard is known for making games that the majority of computers can handle in order cater to a wider audience and maximize profits. :)

My guess is medium with some high settings. (just a guess)

What do you guys think about the 520m GT handling Diablo 3?
I'm getting antsy, rumor is it'll be another month before the u46sv starts selling.
And I'm thinking it's going to be atleast 1100 in Canada :\

Wait for the 540, it's worth it over the 520 :)

    If you're getting antsy, there's always other options such as the Sager 5160 (540m), Sager 5165 (555m) readily available @ GenTechPC or the M11X-R3 (540m), M14X-R1 (555m) etc ... :)

i'm considering the m14x, but i'm not a big fan of the style+weight of the thing.
and i keep hearing about how poor the screens are.

I'm also in Canada and order everything from the US :)

Either stick with the 540 or find an alternative with the same or better GPU imo b/c anything weaker you'll end up regretting it.

Who wants to play new games on lower settings anyways? :p It'll lower the gaming experience by removing all the beauty/art (referring to downgrading from the 540 to the 520)..

I dunno, the fun of Starcraft II is outsmarting your opponent and whooping their butt. I play on minimum graphics settings on a three-year-old MBP, and while I don't get the graphics detail other people do, we're playing the same game.

Chess is still chess whether you've got whittled wood pieces or masterfully-forged pieces made from precious metals. SC2 is still SC2 whether graphics settings are high or low.

You're not alone in this. Most of the pros play on lower settings as well so there's less clutter on their screen.
