...umm....I'm wondering how there's no post.
Anyway Monk is fun. It runs fine single player on my 5650 mobility. Not so sure how it'll handle 4 player yet.

Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
The first post missing thing has been happening the past few days.
-
Cool, what settings are you running it at? I can't wait to see how well it runs on my DV7!
-
I didn't stay up to play last night but today will be a different story! Can't wait to get into this game.
-
LOL, no clue what happened to post...Basically it went like this:
Looking for Gameplay/Performance impressions as it relates to Graphics performance/Sound(track)/UI/Inventory/Controls/etc.
NO SPOILERS ALLOWED!!!
Have at it!! Thanks

Login last night sucked. Blizzard blew the release IMHO with a special kind of stupid. It was hours after the release when I finally got in, and even then it kicked me 2 or 3 times.
Running on desktop [email protected] and 560Ti (950/1900) it runs swimmingly with everything on and 1080p. Honestly for 1080p, I'd consider this overkill.
My first toon is a Witchdoctor. He's fun, but I felt massively overpowered.
It will probably be halfway through Inferno before I have to run or use a potion. (odd as he's a caster) -
Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
I doubt that it will be that easy.lol
-
I'm still waiting for Blizzard to remove the authenticator from my account before I can buy and play the game. Looking forward to making a wizard. Kind of disappointed that there's no paladin-esque class.

SlickDude80 Notebook Prophet
It's already installed and ready to go...i will be playing this game as soon as i get home from work today. I've already told everyone to leave me alone today lol...no wife, no kid, just my computer. I'll update this thread with performance impressions...i think my laptop will max it easily, but we will see
-
You will kill it with your setup. I have the settings maxed out and my FPS is still from 70~100+ lol! I dipped to as low as 50+ when I tried to aggro big crowds of mobs together in the dungeon for an AOE kill.
I froze on the character creation screen the 1st time I log 5am ET. Have to end process and relog then everything went good. I think Bliz is having overloads due to having only 3 servers and considering we can play globally.
I wonder how many licenses they sold until the release. -
SlickDude80 Notebook Prophet
Thnx for the info jinda...looks like i'll be playing this game fluidly

1280x720 and well everything high but AA off.
It seems to run fine. If i was at 1600x900 I doubt It'd run that well. Would probably have to turn shadows and environmental clutter off. -
Getting massive fps drops randomly, especially during high mob/physics areas. It has been narrowed down to the CPU and people with insane desktop setups are reportedly having this problem. It's a problem on quad core processors I hear.
Stuttering and FPS drops - Forums - Diablo III -
your lappy will KILL it Slick
I am wizard, gone through the beta part half way through in the morning, game is much MUCH more difficult comparing to beta, almost got myself killed at some point, especially for a wizard some parts are tough (week defense wise), I am still not buying the whole no-specialization thing, you level up, and yes you don't do any modifications, spend any points, nothing, just select which skills your mouse or numpad assigned, but still the story telling is EPIC (as usual with diablo franchise), and the videos are crazily cool (blizzard's usual trademark), overall I think it will be a nice game to spend the summer free time (damn it, I have internship!
), but I think falls short of being the true successor to D2, my thoughts
-
Getting pretty well stable 60 FPS with v-sync off, max settings otherwise.
-
SlickDude80 Notebook Prophet
you should be getting really sick frame rates too!!
Shoot....cough, cough, i seem to be developing this bad cough...i may have to leave work...cough, cough -
I'm a wiz too. I completed the whole beta campaign in 2 hours this morning before preparing for work. Next stage is really nice and harder.
Ye I hope they put even a small talent tree or something. The only thing that will make us different from the same class is on what skill we choose to assign on the 2 mouse buttons.
Lol! I was thinking of doing that *cough* *cough* thing this morning but I remember I have meetings
Found this in another forum:

Agreed. It was such a waste of time waiting until 3AM only to be disappointed. I attempted to login with my copied and pasted password over 60 times until 4:30AM. By 4:45AM I already get in, get to level 10 only to be kicked and now servers are down until 4:30PM lol. Worst launch I've seen in a very long time.
And I agree on the difficulty. We ran a 3 man (difficulty increases the more players oyu have) and blew through the content. 0 potion ever used and I didn't even bother upgrading my gear. I sure hope it gets more difficulty because as it stands, it's an absolute snooze-fest. -
I read its gonna be harder as we progress. Other people are saying that there are streams showing groups wiping several times in dungeons.
-
I'm on a Lenovo Y570:
Core i7 2670QM 2.2Ghz
8GB RAM
Geforce 555M
What can I expect?
I just tried it and I felt like I was getting 20-30 fps in the first city during a fight or less.
What concerns me is when I started it up, it asked to upgrade my drivers for my Intel GMA. ? GRR. 3dmark06 comes out 9k+ for me. -
my newegg copy still on the truck grr, my bro brought digital and I installing from his account now.
15gb ... poor my 64Gb c300 -
How are you guys liking the game so far? Some gaming forums are saying that the Metacritic reviews have been disappointing. Also is it true US servers have been sporadic?
I'm leaning on buying the game and just want to make sure it's living up to your expectations. -
Played for about 8 hours (from 2:30-10:30) this morning, went to sleep, woke up at 2. Apparently the servers went down right after I went to sleep. So I played for ~30 minutes and they're down for another hour.
-
Servers down on day one? Who would have thought.
Single player content that requires internet access is really annoying. -
Just don't have high expectations
It's decent - definitely not amazing.
Everyone will have mixed positive/negative opinions, so only you can choose
So far I have a level 10 Monk and I'll be starting back up at 18h30 once the servers go back up.
What's disappointing is how they're handling the real money AH.
From what I've gathered (correct me if I'm wrong) is:
- 15% cut to post
- 15% cut if you transfer the money to your bank
- 250$ is the max listing per item
- 500$ is the weekly max you can have
- You can sell items and characters in the AH
Blizzard is being incredibly greedy taking 30% cuts from real USD.
So if you're a good farmer, you can withdraw 425$/per week; 1700$/month (not including listing fees, which would make it 1400$/mo in profits). -
Greg, are you getting the game?
-
I'm thinking about it. Waiting for first impressions to come out about the overall story before I bite. Never had a chance to mess around with the beta. Isn't there suppose to be a free "try me" version coming out in a month or so?
-
I believe there is but there's also a free guest giveaway pass here --> http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...14-diablo-iii-guest-pass-giveaway-thread.html
-
My desktop runs D3 at 5-30 fps, averaging roughly 10 with extreme UI lag
ATI Radeon X1550 = fail, even at 1280x720 and all settings low/off.
Strangely it can handle WoW much better, average is still only 20-30 fps but there is no UI lag so it is playable. -
What are your specs?
-
I'd rather wait a month and get one and leave a free pass for someone else who has more time to enjoy it than I would. I've got projects to work on and a big backlog of games anyway, so no biggie.
-
It's my old desktop with a dual core e2180 and 4GB of 800MHz RAM, with a super cheap and slow (and fanless) ATI X1550. I use it primarily as a file server but with the death of the M17x last night I figured I'd see how bad it is to game on. The answer is: really bad!
I'm thinking about picking up a new 7770 for $120 just for the hell of it, I think that should give playable performance even with the old CPU without requiring me to put a bigger power supply in. -
Dell XPS 15 (L502X) runs it @ 1080p, highest settings, just fine. I actually turned shadow quality or whatever the option is from "high" to medium" to make the game completely fluid at all times, but it's still very playable on "high."
I really don't see too many people having any problems running this.
I chose monk but am really wishing I could be a more traditional heavily-equipped guardian archetype. -
That's with just a 540M and what CPU?
-
Just finished the game.
-
Makes no sense since 50% of the game is endgame content in Inferno mode. That's like saying "I finished WoW because I reached the level cap". You mean you finished the storyline in Normal mode.
-
Wow how long did it take you and do you live in South Korea?
-
Yes, I finished the main storyline on Normal mode.
Hence I finished the game. I have not done everything there is to be done, but I have finished it.
I'd say ~12 hours with a group of 3.
Barely see my WD with my gargantuan.
Gear is easy to come by and I've had the orange belt since level 9 lol
-
When you say party of 3 is that online Co-op? Is normal mode the easiest setting?
-
Jubei Kibagami Notebook Consultant
Hey guys, do you think the collector's edition worth the $100 dollars price tag?
-
Yea, online co-op.
For about 4 hours it was WD, 2x Monk and Barb then Barb left.
For I'd say another 4 hours it was 2x Monk and WD.
Then 3 hours of Monk and WD.
Last hour was Mage, WD and Monk.
Normal mode is the easiest setting. Played a little of Nightmare and it's definitely a significant difference.
If you can get your hands on it, it might be. I opted for the standard because I don't care about a flash drive and I have D2 already.
You might be able to sell it on eBay for profit or just save it and just download the standard edition.
4gb flash drive + D2 and LoD, behind the scenes dvd/blu-ray and a soundtrack (meh). You also get a few in game items but I haven't seen them in use yet (wings). -
dude, how about a loner? I mean I halved the way into leoric in 2 hours, how the hell you guys did it so quick??
(I plan on playing the normal story alone for storyline, I tend to read every bit of information possible as I am an old ad&d dm
)

Haha, all of us had played the beta extensively so Act 1 took probably 45 minutes to an hour at most.
Outside of that just played and played and played. We watched all the cutscenes and everything as well. -
There's an issue with Diablo 3 affecting alot of people -
Whenever you alt/tab and return to the game, your FPS/performance drops down significantly (around 50%) and your character moves in slow motion.
If you're one of those people, don't alt/tab if you can prevent it. You'll have to reboot the game to fix this. -
Alt+tab will also cancel your cutscenes as well in-between acts just so you know
-
Yes, it's a 540M overclocked from 672/900 to 750/1000 and stock i7-2720QM. I just tried with stock settings on the GPU, and it looks like the framerate might have dropped just a little bit with "highest" shadow quality but still playable. I actually think I'll play stock since the game doesn't really call for overclocking, with medium shadows for the smoothest experience, everything else highest, 1080p.

Lol server down again!
-
Yup , love it !

Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
I can't wait till the servers are completely stable! I am gonna grind so much. lol

Thanks for the input s2odin. I just don't know if I want to buy Diablo 3 right now with so many problems..... Two more questions guys, how many of you are happy with the gameplay/performance? I never play Diablo 1 & 2 before, is the third game a big improvement?
