    Good afternoon lads;

I am about to place an order with i7-Ivy + 7970m Sager from Xotic but it is coming at the end of May and seeing how D3 coming out on May 15th I would like to know if my current and out-dated laptop can run it

I have a 3 years old dell xps m1530 with

    Intel Duo Core T5900 @ 2.20Ghz
    4gb ram
    Geforce 8600m GT

    a) Can I run it on LOW settings with pretty much everything turned off and how much fps should I expect

    b) Can I OC this GPU via MSI afterburner and what would you recommend I do with it.

I can't wait for my 7970 to come but in the meanwhile hope y'all help me out with some answers

The requirements are listed here: Diablo III System Requirements - Battle.net Support

It appears your CPU should be fine, but your graphics card is barely over the minimum. It should run but it will probably be 30-ish fps on low if you can stand that for 2 weeks.

I was able to run the Diablo 3 Beta an my 2009 Macbook pro ( C2D @ 2.26 + Nvidia 9400m) . I set all Options to low and had to use a resolution of 1024*768 in order to achive a decent frame rate , but i was still getting a low frame rate when a lot of stuff was going on ( 4 Player + large amount of enemies + lot's of spells being used).

I will not look pretty , but you will be able to play until your new Laptop arrives .

I dunno if the beta is gonna reflect actual performance on retail release. I played the open beta and got a crapload of lag as well. It wasn't pretty, I think a lot of it was server side and graphics wise there was a lot of choppiness. Would drop from like 60 fps to 20 randomly and then back again.

It's definitely server side. My friend has the same laptop as you and was running it with zero issues :)

I am sure you can run it on low-mid settings. I got x2300 radeon 64mb - it gives me 10fps ;)
desktop 5870 gave me all on max . Friend played on nvidia ION on netbook :)

I am sure you will be pretty ok before your new sager arrives. My eurocom racer 2.0 is on the way to me

Again this was open beta, so may not be realistic but I played it with a very similar computer (same card, 2gb ram though).

It was fine with a few enemies around but as soon as there were a lot it became really choppy and pretty tough to do anything. I managed to get through the whole beta but it was difficult to deal with everything slowing down.

thanks for the replies. Like I have said I can not wait for my Sager 9150 to arrive [Eta end of May ] but I will probably run it with my xps at around 30 fps with everything on low for 2 weeks meh
