    From what I've read so far it seems the Barbarian is back and the Necromancer has been replaced by a witch doctor with the similar abilities of raising pets and area-effect curses.

    Took Blizzard long enough, I wonder if the new game will live up to its predecessor.

    The game looks great and I am really waiting for it again...I have a lot of fond memories when I used to play the earlier version with my friends

    Look at the screenshots at that ign site (link at first post). Graphics are 3D but retains the feel of original 2D Diablo. Very nice. :)

    My Bow ama owned in 1.09 version of D2. I had the buriza armor, Wind Force bow and full of poison charams. All togehter i had 16k guided arrow damage. This was in 1.09 before the synergies started.

    I never got really into it untill .11 unforunatly. I played a bit in .09 was mostly a noob with just a few hex's. Dabbled in .10. Raped in .11 :p. My barb used x37 3/18+/20's, zon used 3/1x/3%'s. Zomg Diablo 3.

    Yes. I loved D2, can't wait for D3. I have been looking at geting a new laptop, was thinking of either a dell xps 1530 or gateway 6860, I would prefer the beter mobility of the xps, but i wish they had the system requirements out for this game as if the 8600 in the xps doesn't cut it for this game, I would be leaning more towards the gateway then.

    I hope that I can play it well on my dell xps m1330 with 8400GS, but its probably cuz Blizzard always add low requirements on its games :).

    This is so awesome! Many wanabe's have come out after Diablo 2, and while some were some good (Titan Quest and the decent Sacred), this is the real deal. Bring it on!

    Now this looks like a better engine than SCII. This looks better and maybe I'm biased just has a better level of polish to it.

    It looks pretty sick! I want it for the iPhone :p, that would be sweet to play anywhere! Blizzard said you can play it with just a mouse, so it would work really nice with multitouch, plus the iPhone could handle some nice effects.

    It doesnt matter if its an MMO or not. If it draws a significant amount of players away from WoW, it is effectively a WoW killer.

    it is highly unlikely. after all, diablo never killed starcraft. diablo will be big, but not as big as WoW. WoW simply has too much going for it right now and not everyone is into the "dark" atmosphere of diablo world. hence why i think they chose not to create diablo MMO. i also doubt starcraft MMO will draw significant amount of players from WoW. people really enjoy fantasy MMO's with orcs and elves. besides, everyone should already know blizzard isn't dumb enough to kill their own franchise and they've been successful thus far.

    yeah definitely. i'll probably end up building a new system to play this as there seem to be a lot of physics and jingles involved. not to mentioned massive enemy ambush (from the gameplay presentation).

    Am I the only one who was somewhat underwhelmed at the graphics from the screen shots?

    P.S. I really hope the world will be open for exploration like in WOW as opposed to how it was in D2.

    i played WoW retail for almost 2 years and now i fool around on private servers. this game, however, might make me stop playing WoW. i wonder when it's coming out >.>

    and i'm sure the system reqs will not be high. it's blizzard.

    the graphics look awesome to me but i'm not sure what games you're comparing it to. of course it'll have a lot less detail than a FPS since those games you're limited to corridors and indoor areas. and even for an outdoor game like Oblivion you're very limited in details to its closest surroundings. besides all blizzard made games look awesome in motion as opposed to seeing them in screenshots.

    i can't see the hack-n-slash formula deviating too far from previous diablo games. i mean it's a pick up anytime isometric hack-n-slash for a reason. oh and the bnet experience lol.

    The screen shots dont really do the graphics justice imo. I just watched the 20 minute game play trailer and I have to say the game looks really nice in action. Loved D1 and D2, this game looks like a lot of fun!

    both style has its pros and cons. the right one definitely has more Diablo feel to it but it's also kinda messy to look at. but yeah the reason why Blizzard doesn't push the envelope in terms of graphics is because they have a lot larger consumer base to accommodate with wide range of computer specs. this is something not many company are able to do even if they wanted to. companies like Crytek don't have a choice but to pump out the latest and the greatest technically impressive games because that's mostly what they have going for them. they can't sell their gameplay alone like Blizzard can. and they certainly have smaller market to cater to. but yeah Blizzard always uses great art style and everything flows really well when it's played motion. contrary to what most people think, Blizzard pays a lot more attention to details than most game developers. that's why those starcraft unit animations continues to remain a classic. just my $.02.
