I like most of what I see and am probably a buyer; depends on how they monetize it.

Maybe I'm late to the party but did he say at 7:01 there won't be possible to play solo offline and that's it's online only and more of an MMO? Hope this gets reconsidered (not holding my breath, though).

It would be nice to be able to create off line characters but it wasn't available in D3 and probably won't be available in D4. They blame it on the need to control cheating but in actuality it's just because you don't buy anything when your not connected.

It looks nice. A lot of people are upset about the Blizzard and Hong Kong thing though.

Like D3 it's online only, so it's console material.

Think the system requirements are close to what d3 requires?

Hard to make much of a guess at it now: The question was asked at one of the Q&As and specs were still in flux was the answer.

I don't know about others, but I never paid for anything in D3 when playing it online. I only paid for the game, but that was it.

Part of it goes back to D2 where the entire economy was based on player cheating (that's how all those perfect rune words, items, high runes, and so on came into the economy) and there was no fixing it without a basic reboot of the entire game and re-balancing of the gear so they never did, the cheating just went on to the end. The other part was that D3 was not supposed to be free to play, we were supposed to be buying our butts off in the real money auction house but that was a dismal failure and removed from the game. Those two things at the inception of the game led to no offline characters for D3 and while they may or may not have got past the sting of all those dupes in D2 now they aren't past claiming that no offline play reduces cheating in this game just as they did in D3. The reality is that just like D3 they aren't allowing it because they want you online where you can see other players with goods that you don't have and be tempted by them.

I'm hyped. But I'll probably do what I always do and play through the story in SP with one char and never go back to it. I think I finally replayed D2 for the second time since it released within last year..
