Hi all, I know that Diablo is an outdated old game but i have recently been inclided to play it, I have a Vostro 1500 with Vista home basic, diablo ran fine on it with the exception of a window saying that it may not have been correctly installed which would pop up after exiting the game. My HD took a dump and i installed a new one warrantied from dell. i re installed diablo exp and when i run it up in the left hand corner of the screen a small black box apprears and differnet numbers letters and symbols scroll through it, it is not click able and just sits there and displays different charicters, 5 mins or so later, it will run diablo normally.... any ideas or anyone experience this,... anyone still play this relic for that matter???
    thanks in advance.

you need to set it to play in windows xp compatibility mode

To configure the compatibility mode for an application, locate the installation directory (c:\program files\diablo II) and right click on the .exe (diablo II.exe), then select Properties from the menu.

    Select the Compatibility tab

    Change it to Windows XP

I used to have that happen sometimes, but i learned that a no-cd crack fixed it or load an image on a virtual drive may help as well
