    Diagnose My CSS Connection Issues

    I was having problems playing on wireless so I switched to an Ethernet cable connected to my router. My router has the latest firmware on it. Yet I still encountered some sort of connection problems.

    what type of internet connection is it (DSL, Cable, Fiber, etc...) and at what speed does you ISP boast. You might want to see if it is a burst connection. some ISP's will advertise a high speed but only at burst speeds. That is why they give the disclaimer about how speeds can vary. It also depends on your bandwidth for your nod. One of the biggest complaints of cable is that the more people that get it in your area, the slower it is. might want to look into all that. ... Also, what time are you expiriencing the problem?

    dude its been so long since ive played css. did they change the weapon models or is that a mod. anyways, what r u net settings at? try typing in cl_updaterate 101 and cl_cmdrate 101 that helps alot if u didnt already know. um i cant remember what else there is but those are the only 2 commands i know off hand. oh and plain old rate 20000

    Rates that I use are
    rate 25000
    cl_cmdrate 100
    cl_updaterate 100

    Sometimes I get this now and then because I've downloaded so much stuff that my ISP goes crazy now and then. Damn you Comcast!!!

    Sometimes, I'll do that reboot refresh method: Unplug the power from your modem, then unplug the power from your router, wait about a minute or so then replug the power back into your modem (wait for it to start up - light up) and then replug the power cord back into the router.

    Well I seem to have fixed it with messing around with my router options and resetting it. I also opened the ports for STEAM in the router Port Foward page.
