I remember reading a while back that the developers of ArmA were on the verge of releasing a patch that would greatly improve performance and smooth out hte gameplay in the release version of the game. Has anybody bought the retail version of ArmA with the latest patch, and if so, how does it perform on anything besides a 7950 or 8800? Is it playable on a medium-end GPU like an 8400/8600?

On my 8600GT, I'm playing v1.08 online at 1024x768, 'low' settings and getting 60fps. I could raise the detail, but want that responsiveness for competitive play.
