What is the difference, can I use crossfire with an SLI certified PSU?![]()
-
You might be able to, but i would want to get a Crossfire certified one. Thats why they make ones for both.
But if you could find the actual voltages/amps/watts needed, and they match up, it MAY work. But wait for more replies. -
thanks. I was just wondering because there are almost no reviews for the ati certified psus... If anyone could recommend a psu to me that would be great. I am planning to overclock two 3870s.
-
yes you can. it's just a marketing gimick. just get a quality psu with 600-700w+ and you will be fine.
-
yea. thats what I thought. I was planning to get a 650 watt sli certified.. thank you!
-
Total marketing gimmick as tianxia said, use sli and crossfire certifications interchangeably.
-
my corsair is "sli certified" but it would run crossfire just fine as it's 750 watts and has 5 pci-e connectors (4 or 5)
-
Power on the 12V rails is what's most important

We'd like the discussion here at NBR to remain about notebooks.
Thanks.
